Yup,I can not figure out why the Agco CUTs always seem to be the most expensive of the majors.

Do not overlook the Korean tractors. They are on par with the Japanese offerings from the major brands. Mahindra,Century/Branson,Kioti,Long,TAFE,.....all are good tractors to consider also.

Hey Kevanos,

Pretty good run down there!! Only things I can add are:
The David Brown name disappeared with the introduction of the Case 94 series,but DB tractors were made under the CIH name until 1988.

Fiat had to sell off Hesston twice in the long run. Once when they bought into Ford/New Holland,second time when the took over CIH and needed to liquidate their 50% share.

Ya,its pretty much the same up here.SD-F is pushing the Deutz-Fahr brand these days. They did not have anything at the Toronto show that was not painted green. Lambos seem to be history along with Hurlimann for us at this time.

If you're moving down from the Massey to something smaller,I'd suggest looking at the new Mahindra"00" series.Or if you want something smaller the Newer "C" series from Mahindra.

Well........you'll find two different schools of thought on this application of your's. Myself,I'd say go a utility tractor not a compact. The utility will be heavier built and hold up longer under more demanding tasks,and handle larger equipment. Something like the new Mahindra "00" series would fit your bill probably quite nicely. Or if you want something a little smaller the "C" series is what to look at.

If you must go with a CUT for some reason,do not sell the Korean offerings short. Most times they are on par with the majors Japanese designed models,but at a lower price. The Korean's also seem to be heavier than the others. Mahindra,Century/Branson,Kioti,Long all sell good tractors.

No matter which one you choose,drive all of them that you can,for as long as possible to get a good idea of the tractor.

It all depends on what you can live with or without. If you can put up with the quirks of the brand,and are mechanically inclined,then buy one. But if you need the most up to date bells and whistles,and want to pay for these luxuries a Chinese tractor will surely leave you disapointed!

See if the dealers in your area will send the tractors you are looking at out for a demo. If they will check them all out very well,even if all you do is drive around for hours at a time. The more seat time you can put in the more you'll learn about what you like and dislike about each brand. Time spent now can save you $$$ and agrivation later!!

If your land is that much on the rough side,I'd look for a utility tractor instead of a CUT. The new Mahindra "00" series with mfd are nice tractors. They are built heavier all the way around vs. the compacts.

Its a real shame that AmJawa has never really pushed the marketing on the Century brand! Maybe now though,that their parent has sorted itself out we'll see more on the Century brand from them.

Seeing as how you are looking at the tractor for municipal service,I'd try and find a Century dealer instead. AMJawa is the Century importer,and a tad bit larger company with a longer track record for parts and service back up. Very same tractor just different name on it,and importer.
