Anyone know approx. value of a M602, in use, with 7' box blade, pull behind bush hog. All very rusty and beat up, but can pull tree roots out of ground if not careful.<br>

Gentlemen, a question, I've noticed the colder it is the longer it takes my " idiot light" low pressure indicator to go out, (up to operating pressure). The other day it was about 15 degrees F , I had the block heater pluged in for a couple of hours. The machine fired right up, But it might have taken about 6 seconds for the light to go out. In the hot summer weather it might take about 3 seconds, It just seems to me that in the low temps. that's a long time to run with questionable oil pressure. Is this normal??? BTY the machine is a Ford NH 1920 with about 400 hours on it. Vince

Jim, I was a little suprised in reading your post, that the Kioti was only 500 bucks less than the Kubota. I recall the Kiotis being alot less than the Kubotas. Before you decide on either one, get a "check" on those prices. I'm sure, like the others above, that the kubota will have a better resale value. As far as the Kioti goes, compare the specs. It MAY wind up being a great little tractor... Once in a while I'll hear the Kioti critized, But does anyone remember what was once said about the now well proven Kubota when it first showed up years ago??????????? I personally would like to see more competition in the compact market. Best of luck Jim in your choice.

Dana, Maybe you are already aware of this but one thing that was not mentioned is "single stage" as opposed to "two stage". the single stage does not have a fan in the center behind the auger. sorta like the toro mentioned above, but it would have an auger instead of the paddles. This type releys on a fast spinning auger which throws the snow out the shut. It may not work that well with wet heavy snow. the two stage has a slower moving auger which moves the snow to the fan, which blows the snow. It works alot better with the snow you would not like to shovel, the wet heavy crap. Good Luck, Vince

Hey Bo, let me remind you that it was MLS that started that .707 crap not me, I still don't know what it has to do with mounting a light or two on your ROPS. But I bought one of those magnetic floods... I'll probably try to mount it DURING the blizzard.

Have you guys checked the specs and looked at both models to see the quality of construction, ie. size of pins and metal thickness and so on. Could it be that there is is less of a markup on the NH hoe???? In either case I'm very curious as to what you guys can find out...I'd love to have a nice backhoe, and color would'nt matter to me. Let us know what you decide on.

Lou, It's more than looks and size...but you can't beat looks of those Boomers but if you look at the specs. the 20 series has got the Boomers beat. Example: 4 cylinders running at a lower RPM for rated HP, better 3PT lifting capacity, and It's just a heavier machine. Check out newholland.com and see for yourself.

You may have made your decision already, but for what it's worth, I bought a used '92 1920 with 200hrs on it with a front loader, back blade, snow blower and cultivator with the opt larger rear tires...I paid $13,200. I believe that I go a pretty good deal. This machine has the 12X4 transmission, which to me is not as nearly as nice as the shuttle shift. What did you wind up getting?

Well Ladies and Gents, have I got a can of worms. Through a lot of advice and information I found on the boards here (I Thank you all), I decided on my first compact purchase: a 4wd hst b2100, 60

The first problem came up when the mower was delivered. The mower deck gave the symptoms of having one blade's pulley a slightly different size than the other two. There would be a clockwork regular clang from the blades, related to the engine speed. Checking the blades showed that two blades in question were making contact.. not every rotation, not even every other turn, but just hand spinning showed that the geometry between those two blades was changing.
The dealer sent the delivery truck right back to pick the tractor up and return it to the shop. That was nice enough, so I can't complain about that service. I guess I'm a little curious how that could have slipped through their set up procedure, though.. and I'm again without a tractor until they get this sorted out. So, are setup mistakes normal?
Now I've found out that the same dealer has on his lot a 4wd hst B2150 (not sure of hours or year), outfitted with a 60" loader, mower, and backhoe for a shade under 18k. I had told the dealer when I called initially that THAT was the configuration I was ultimately looking for(attachment-wise), but I settled on what I got because I can't afford a backhoe right now. (OK, I would have needed the grader blade added to the 2170's package..)
All that said, I'm looking for input in the following areas:
1) what are the noteworthy differences between the b2170 and the b2100?
2) does the price of the used rig sound right, assuming has, say 500-1000 hours on it and is in good shape? I know, the ad doesn't address the deck size, so I assume it is smaller, nor does it address engine hours, so they aren't exactly bragging it being low. Ballpark guesses are fine.
3) though I can't change it, did I do OK on the 2100's package?
4) how 'cautious' should I be about this dealer, being that he didn't set up the tractor right, and he didn't even suggest a very similar used tractor that would have been closer to what I really wanted (given the 2100 and 2170 are at least close to being the same machine) and saved me long term money.
5) would I be out of line switching to the used tractor, being that I haven't had the new b2100 at my place for even an hour?
Sorry, I guess I'm mixing a lot of griping with questions, but this isn't what I expected making this purchase to be. Thanks for your time and responses.

Jim,<br>All good ideas posted so far. I bought used weight box, filled it with 9 bags of premix concrete, works well. In my neighborhood I have seen 55 gal drum filled and mounted vertically, plastic pool chemical containers (drums or tubs) filled and mounted horizontally, and all sorts of implements. The weight box fits close and provides good balance and manueverabiltiy. Vince

Steve,<br>I agree with John; check out a set of R4's. I have a set of Ags on one tractor and R4's on another. The R4's are a good compromise. I'd be concerned about breaking traction doing loader work with the turfs, however I don't have any first hand experience. For tire chains check out www.tirechain.com. They may be just what you need. Stan,<br>I too am from NE PA, near Shickshinny. A post from Shickshinny is as rare as a hen's tooth. I began plowing my 700 ft. drive in the early seventies (8N, chains, & backblade) and have found that on my rough drive it is easier on the equipment to plow while going forward...when you hook up on a rock you usually bounce the plow over it. When you hook up going backwards you usually hook up!!! and boiinngg do some damage. My backblade would do well as part of a smiley face. Even when I have angled the blade to lean far into the snow, forward, for me, is better in the rough. On my Dad's paved drive direction matters little.

I have used mine to move snow, dirt, gravel, and most punishing, a 200 ft. section of old stone row about 2 ft. high and 6 ft. wide. Bucket paint is worn off but bucket is all OK.
