Sorry to hear of the problems with a new machine but sounds like you got them squared away well. I have a 4100 also without those problems or any for that matter with over 150 hours now. Yes, it is a very good machine for me, does what I bought it to do. I guess I am a little envious of the Kubota 2710 owners now as the 2710 gives one alot more tractor for a little more money...it would have been a tougher decision to go the 4100 route if the 2710 was available last year.

access to a '53 jubilee i am tring to get going but it has more down time
than up it needs about 500 more to make it dependable. the long tractor
is the same package but its not 4wd but it 46 hp and 42 at pto. for $14,5k for 1 year warranty and no service agreement. "> new vs old

Fabulous deal! I just paid $4500 for an identical tractor with 1000 hours, now I'm acquiring the attachments. The only problem seems to be where to get parts if (when) you need them. I have not found anyone supporting Mitsubishi in the U.S.

My new (20 hours) JD 4200 seems to have a problem with the PTO brake. The dealer is telling me that they will have to open up the transmission to replace or adjust the brake. That sounds like major surgery to me. Does anyone know how much effort that is and how this might effect the tractor long-term? I'm hoping they won't break something else when tearing my tractor apart and putting it back together. The 4200 is a newer model and I'm hoping they have the expertise and tools to get the job done right. If I sound nervous it's because it took three weeks to get a new turn signal lens in to the dealership. I hate to think how long transmission and PTO brake parts might take. Would it be unreasonable to ask for a different tractor?

Went to the NH dealership today expecting to make my decision between the TC29D or TC33D. Out of the blue there is a 180 hour, 1998, 1630 available for about $3500.00 less than the new TC29D. The dealer told me it was equal to the TC29D, but my findings conclude that it is rated at 27HP, 2HP less than the TC29D. What is the 1630? Was it one of the prototypes for the TC

after looking at all the machines i just ordered(yesterday) a kuboata 4310 with the power shift <br>transmission. you can shift without the clutch but you dont loose the power as with the hydro. <br>hope your machine workds out.

Thanks for the reply. It doesn't much matter now anyway because the tractor sold the next day. But for the record, it was an 89, 1010, 2WD, Manual transmission, it had 432 hours on it. It was in really good condition and had a new battery. It came with a 48

the kubota L4310GST is an excellent choice. remember one thing if you buy too<br>small its always a problem. i am going thru the same questions you are.<br>kubota is the only maker that offers a compact with 37.5 hp at the pto, enough<br>for a small baler.i have researched this question for 2 years. my choice may <br>not be the cheapest choice but it is the safest. hope my views hlep your<br>decision a little<br>

Hi all. Before purchasing my JD 4200 (Hydro, 4WD) I spent a lot of time at this site and saw several references to a JD satisfaction policy. I thought the deal was that you could upgrade/change tractors within 30 or 90 days and apply the purchase price toward the new equipment.<br>My 4200 is having some trouble mowing up steep hills (very steep). I have to slow down to keep the engine from stalling. So, I contacted JD this morning to inquire about their upgrade policy. The answer I got was that there is no such thing for compact tractors. They do take lawn and garden equipment back but not tractors. Oh great. I then contacted the local dealer I purchased it from and relayed the power problem I'm having. No question, damm good deal on the price. Very thorough analysis on the tires, there will always remain a gray area on what some people call turf damage and others say, ah thats OK. Can't help but feel that turf quality and underlying soil condition is the primary variable that will determine what you see. In my case, the soil is terribly hard packed so tire damage is minimal in 4wd and none in 2wd. I believe the combo of R4 rear and turf front is a great idea and it should work for you.

Tested a set of R4 IND tires on fine sod grass but needs advise

Thanks to all for the input. I'm going to get either a Befco or Woods 6' rear finish mower with rear discharge. I already have a small JD riding mower for maneuvering around tress and such. The big mower will be used for the open areas so I can get the job done fast.<br>Thanks again!

I have used a pulverizer on an existing 'lawn' if you can call it that; sounds like your situation. My area was never planted properly and turned into a cow pasture almost. The pulverizer will destroy existing weeds and any grass and serve to level the high spots. I used the box blade some also for leveling very high areas.

I'm purchasing a JD 4200, hydro, 4WD. I also want to get a 5' - 6' finish mower (3pt), and a rear blade with the tractor. One JD dealer sells Land Pride brand mowers and blades. The other sells Befco mowers and Atlas blades. I'm not too concerned about the blade because they're relatively inexpensive. The mower, however, is not. Does anyone have an opinion on Befco vs. Land Pride? The Befco is slightly more expensive but seems to be better made. For instance, the Land Pride blade had spots of rust on it already while it was still in the shipping crate. The Befco looked like it has just come off of the assembly line. Rust aside, is one better than the other? I use 4 ft also with 4100 and it I believe is ideal. In hard clay, I use only 2 ripper teeth at a time but did put a ~100 lb weight on the box so it bites and scrapes harder. Wouldn't go any bigger than a 4 footer.
