I'm looking at a Cub 7275 with loader and backhoe. The tractor was bought in 1997 and has 470 hrs. It has a few scratches but seems to be in good shape (no leaks or dents) The guy is asking $18,000 for it. Does this seem reasonable for northern Indiana? Thanks for any input....

Need some help!!!<br>The light that looks like a battery on the dash of my 1610D comes on after the tractor has been running for a about 10 mins. What could be the reason for this? Is the battery going bad? Is the alternator or generator going bad? Help me if you can...

I've been in the market for a 40 +/- HP tractor and have done extensive research. I prefer the JD4500 over a Kubota 3710; however, I've been waiting for the larger Boomers to arrive before I make a decision. I finally had the pleasure of driving the NH TC40 and TC40D. I really like this new tractor design. The NH prices beat the JD and Kubota prices. However, after a lot of thought, I've decided to go with the JD4500. Why, because of the PowerReverser transmission. NH doesn't offer this. Also because it looks like a solid tractor top to bottom. All of the improvements in the 4000 series appeal to the consumer; larger fluid capacities, easier maintenance checks, heavier than the Kubota's, and it drives real well.

I believe that NH has a great new design. If I were in the market for a hydro, I'd buy the TC40D. It offers the high-low range, which is nice. It doesn't have as much top end speed as a JD4600 HST and isn't as smooth. But, for $3,700.00 less than the JD 4600 HST, I could definitely live with it, if I wanted a Hydro.

I'm waiting to order the JD4500 until the new front axles hit the production line. I'm told they'll begin in mid-April.

I have owned a 4100 for 15 months with a 410 loader & really love it. The only
ballast I use is liquid in the tires, per my dealers suggestion after I griped
about price of ballast box and wheel weights. The tractor has been used to replace several tons of dirt and sand on a piece of waterfront property I own due to the hurricanes here in Eastern NC, granted when I really load the bucket it can get a little light in the rear, but for the most part it has worked fine. Please keep in mind that ground I use the tractor on is very level. I also use it to cut @ 2 acres of grass and the only time it has ever scuffed is in 4wd in a very tight turn. I have really enjoyed reading the info. on this site as this is the first real tractor I've owned personally.

I'm planning on mounting a snow plow blade in place of the bucket on my<br>430 loader on a 4300 tractor and was wondering if anyone has seen a Quik-<br>mount bracket or has fabricated something that will take advantage of the<br>easy on and off feature. I looked at the John Deere front mount blade and<br>thought it was a bit expensive ($1200.00) same with Curtis ($1400.00) and <br>since I already have a plow blade w/hydro turn I would like to use that<br>some how. Any ideas out there? snows coming!!

What a ride! 180,00 miles ago, I decided to put synth in my Nissan and change it every 10,000 miles. What I did was change it every 25,000 or so. Still runnin'. I keep petroleum in my B, 318 and 870. I also keep HD oil in my 70's sportster. (yeah I pay a real premium for the HD stuff but those guys run hot and they were supposed to have spent time researchin'.) I also use OEM filters except for the auto. I am too weak to stray from the manufactures stuff and specs on the 870 and the HD cause of the religous overtones but on the nissan...Is this extended interval burning up the additives or polluting the oil? I only use Mobil1 something or other and I do change the filter about midway. On oil analysis..Where do I see about having this done? At what magnification on the microscope do you start to see the Bucky Balls;) and such in the oil? Curosity only! Anyway, You all have been great. Later , Greg.

I have a Yamaha Snowblower with a cracked plastic fuel tank. I am looking for a used one or any place I can get parts for it. The blower and the parts are discontinued, so the dealer can't help. I figure I will post messages all over the place until some one can help me.

I had a 316 with hydro for 12 years and at times abused it, pushed the machine to stall many times and never had a hydro issue at all. I bought the 4100 with hydro for that reason and would certainly only go hydro whatever tractor I bought. Well worth the extra $

I also have the 4100 with no problems after using quite a few attachments over the past 1+ yr. including box blade and pulverizer, finish mower and bushhog. I would not put a backhoe on the machine, it is not recommended but then again I don't need one either so it doesn't matter to me. The machine does what I need it to do and I believe it will hold up for many years, probably longer than I will. It has certainly saved me many backaches if I were to attempt doing the many things it has accomplished.

I'm wondering if the JD model 48 backhoe is a good investment and how much one can expect to pay to get one. I have a JD 4300 and would like to use the backhoe to remove stumps and dig some holes. Alot of good comments, will add to NOT buy the el cheapo Howse brand. Very poorly made unit; all the corners that can be cut and then some, Howse found a way to do it. I have one with about 20 hours on it and if it lasts 100 I'll consider myself lucky. It was cheap and I got what I paid for so no complaint in that regard but if you want your unit to last, stay away from Howse.

Where do you live? I am in central Georgia and the clay doesn't get any harder without a doubt than right here. I have a subsoiler and 1 blade (V notch) plow and I can dig with them to their design depth, about 6 - 10 inches deep with a JD 4100. It will usually take more than one pass but they will eventually dig down to as far as the 3 pt allows them to go. So to answer your question, yes the weight of the implement will help push it into the soil. Also, their design along with the weight makes them want to go down. A boxblade can be another story, there I add a heavy block to the top of it so I can scrap and level more efficiently otherwise boxblade won't scrap off much hard clay.<br>Hope that helps.

I agree with comments that you didn't loose anything in your purchase. I got a 4100 about June 1 of 98 and my dealer knew then JD planned to expand the 4000 series and discontinue the 6xx to 9xx series tractors. They learned specifically about the new machines (specs etc) with an Augusta factory visit around June 1. I am not sure when JD announced their intention to replace the 6xx to 9xx machines..it was probably early 98 as that kind of transition does not happen overnight. I sometimes wish I got the 755 instead of the 4100 although the 4100 is working fine for me now.

When did dealers know of 4300 4400 series
