Thought I would give an update to this post from years ago.
I still have this DK 35 (2001 model.)
Its been an excellent tractor for me over the years. (currently has 2165 hours)

They will come on when you turn on the key, and for a couple seconds when first started till the pressure builds up.

I just ordered them through the dealer.
The 1914 was discontinued in 2008.
No idea how long they carry service manuals for discontinued models.

I'm not quite sure what you mean here.<br>
Kioti never changed anything. <br>
They continued to build and supply Kioti tractors just as they always have.<br>
All they did here was supply compact tractors to Bobcat rebranded with the Bobcat name. <br>
No different then Yanmar supplying models to John Deere. (My John Deere 850 was built by Yanmar.)<br>
Shibaura and LS supplying compact tractor models for New Holland. Etc. Etc.<br>
Its been going on with many of the compact tractor lines for years. <br>
The Bobcat versions had different seats, loaders, backhoes, wiring harness, Etc. Etc. than Kioti used.<br>

I've had a Kioti DK 35 for 10 or 11 years now. (1600+ hours)
I never have any problems with it. Its been rock solid reliable.

The DK 40 se are very nice tractors with a lot of nice standard features.<br>
Push button 4 wheel drive, hydraulic rear remotes, independant PTO, draft control, extendable lower link arms on the 3 point hitch, a lever to control the 3 point from the back of the tractor to make hooking up implements easier, the Kioti loaders on the DK models come standard with a skid steer style quick attach bucket. Etc.<br>
Good dealer service or not depends on your local dealer just like any other brand.<br>
I have a 2001 Kioti DK 35 with 1400 hours.Excellant tractor. Very reliable,no problems at all. <br>
I own both John Deere and a Kioti tractor. Parts for my Kioti are as easy to get as they are for my JD. I call the dealer, order the parts and they are mailed to my door. No differance.

I have a Rhino 85 backhoe on my 35 HP tractor.
I really like it. Its here whenever I need it(no need to mess around renting or hiring out).
Good power, good speed, goes on and off fast and easy.
I've used my backhoe to dig/install all the utilities to our house, hundreds of feet of drainage pipe, culvert ditchs and culvert pipe for the drive way, dug the foundation for a pole barn, dug rock out of the bank to build the road behind our house to the barn, Etc. Etc.

If the tractor is in good shape the price sounds OK.
What model/size Woods backhoe does it have? Is it subframe mounted or 3 point mounted?

I have 1200+ hours on my DK 35 and the only parts needed so far have been a tachometer cable and a plastic fuel filter bowl.

Your profile shows you have a DK 45.
The DK 45 should have a disposable spin on hydrualic filter.

I have a 2001 DK 35 with a little over 1200 hours.
I've been very pleased with it. Its been a good reliable machine for me so far.

With a gear tractor I always use the foot throttle and vary the RPM's as needed for loader work.
Running higher RPM's all the time causes unnessasary wear and tear on the clutch and makes the tractor harder to control.
My opinion.

Running at constant RPM or use gas pedal

Does the hour meter work?
If the tractor really only has 200 hours on it , it should be like new in my opinion and 2nd gear should not be out. The tractor may have a lot more hours on it than the meter is showing.
If the rest of the tractor is in good shape and you can fix 2nd gear yourself the tractor may be worth it. If you need to pay a repair shop to fix the transmission I think the price is to high.

Try spraying some penetrating oil on the linkage where it goes into the transmission case.
I occasionally spray the linkage on my 2001 DK 35. I also engage/disengage my 4 wheel drive while moving, and it goes in and out of gear very easy.

As long as the engine is not hot when you wash it down, it will be fine to spray it down with water.
I have always pressure washed my tractor engines.
Never caused any problems.
