Sorry, but aren't the 4000 series a yanmar that is shipped to the US in pieces, and then assmbled here with the addition of some US made sheetmetal?<br>They can call it ASSEMBLED in the USA, and get past trade tariffs/taxes by sending a unassembled product.<br>Toyota does it with the Tacoma... Made in the USA, ya right! Send a bunch of subassemblies in, get past US taxes and Tariffs, employ a couple Americans, and call it Made in USA, gosh darn it!<br>I like John Deere, my next tractor will be one. But, thier made in USA stuff is a real crock.

I have a a 1984 JD 1050 with 400 hours used exclusively for light duty mowing, pulling a JD rotary or a JD sickle bar. I would like to sell the machine with the rotary mower, but I have not idea what price to ask. Any suggestions? Is there a blue book value for this kind of thing?

I have a 1996 7274 tractor with a from loader 60 inch bucket and rear backhoe with a 12 inch bucket and 24 inch bucket. I'm thinking of trading it in and want to know if you can tell me if the new models horsepower has been increased of if I'm looking for something with more digging power is should go with the Kubota L35. My tractor doesn't did as well as it use to may it need the pressure valves turned up? I had them turned down by a dealer because it was winning when in use and they said they may have been set to high.

Tracey I also talked to my dealer and told him of my problem and how one of the relays seem very hot and that I changed it with one that was cooler, he offered to repaced that one but I told him that I would use it in the next couple of days and let him know if it cut off again. The relay I changed was the safty cut off relay, I suspected this is the problem, being an auto tech for 25 years and dealing with such problems like this. Ill keep you posted on what happen, and thanks for your input.

When you stop fighting over who's sandbox has the better toys, we would probably all agree on what we are disagreeing about. Kubota's loader is stronger, but JD's controls are more ergonomically correct & easier to install/remove. The belly mowers are both excellent, with JD taking a slight lead due to the almost $3K price tag on Kubota's. both engine manuf's are proven & rated first class. JD has some plastic skin, and Kubota has some metal...this is probably personal preference, but anyone experienced with plastic will find it takes a beating better than sheetmetal, lasts longer, and remains rust free. As far as hydro controls, all the crap about controls belonging on one side or another, or being like my pick-up is rediculous. Your truck doesn't come to a stop when you release the forward pedal,or have rear left/right brakes. And your hydrostatic tractor doesn't free wheel to a stop light!! To say that Kubota's hydrostatic handles "mashing the pedal at idle" better than JD is probably true, possibly making it the stronger of the two. But anyone who is truely being fair, unbiased & experienced with industrial equipment of any magnitude would agree that Kubota could have done better in laying out the foot controls. And Yes, "some" have experienced long waits for a JD, and yes, JD has first year production issues. Maybe we need to bring up Kubota's first year problems like we have for JD. The fact is, even if no-one knew that the same two tractors, had different color skin, we would argue that one was somehow better. I'm still thinking of Kubota, JD or NH and find this very hard to decide. Most people say just get a good dealer that will stand by the equipment it sells. That makes sense. But, why did you choose between the 4100 and the new 790, which has 10 more hp?

I've never seen a problem I could attribute to mixing oils, and at my shop I probably looked into hundreds of motors. I mix oils of various brands and viscosities without even thinking about it, and have never had a problem. I commonly get better life out of my engine/trannys than most people expect.<br> Lots of things affect engine life, with luck and cleanliness being at the top.<br> Roger Loving

What you do see on a lot of expensive engines is a prefilter that works by centrifuging the air to get the particles out. The fine dust is then collected in a jar or similar device which gets dumped out. Beats me why this is not more common with all intake systems. Its surprising how much dirt gets trapped this way. <br> Roger Loving

It all depends on condition. 3020s around here in well-used but sound condition are going for 5500 to 8000 from the farmers and a thousand or two higher from the dealers.<br> Well, it would be plenty of tractor for whatever you might want to use it for. No shortage of power, and parts are available everywhere. The 3020 is not going to go away. They are a popular tractor and in my opinion they always will be. I don't see the duals as being worth as much as good single tires, but if your 25 acres is muddy it would help.<br> Roger Loving<br>
