I recently purchased a Ford 1500 4wd with loader for working in the woods, and I am using the loader alot. There is no "antique" incentive to keep this tractor in original condition and I am wondering if there are any suggestions on adding ROPS to such a tractor. I was told by the dealer I bought it from that due to liability there were no commercially available retrofit units available.Also...I am assuming that with ROPS you ought to wear the seatbelt because in that case you want to stay within the protection zone...I am also assuming that without ROPS a seatbelt would actually be more dangerous.ThanksKim Hartshorn

Kim, Look at the "Small Tractor FAQ - Home Page" site . They have a refernece to a safety site which details the available ROPS for older tractors. I believe yours is available through a company in California. Good Luck. Carl. ....
