I think the engine is well broken in, it has 200 hours on it and I have not had a problem before.

I was just looking at the web site. Pretty smart idea. I measured my spacers at 8.5" and I am going to give this system a go. Haven't had any problems yet. When I was figureing out the FEL I did a couple of holy cows. lol. I'd rather not repeat that in reverse in the middle of the woods. I probably have more than enough extra plates in the basement collecting dust.

2flints. I agree with Mark. Second guessing your self is no fun. The 4115 was nearly the machine I ordered and after re-reading your post seems like the much better choice for you. You can one step up your self higher and higher. By the time I came back to earth I was test driveing a 4610. A great tractor but It wasn't going to be any fun to tow ! Kick back and enjoy the new tractor. Let us know how you like it once it arrives !

Go to www.turbodiesel.com and you will find a link to a fix for the problem. There are 2 possible fixes. One is a Lukes Link for your trackbar. Have someone turn the steering wheel and look at the ends of the trackbar. If it is flexing at the drivers side where it attaches to the frame, the Lukes Link will help. It is only about $65 for the link and it is rebuildable. Also look at the pitman arm where it comes out of the steering box and see if the steering box is flexing away from the frame. If so, there is a fix for this as well. It incorporates a bearing around the output shaft of the steering box that is attached to the frame to stiffen up the box/frame connection. I don't have this fix on my truck but I hear it works well. I will get one soon. I have the Lukes Link and it works as advertised.

jazak5, I made my own . 40 dollars and 2 hrs of welding. look at pic. I'm going to be making set for my loader soon , just picked up some half inch plate steel today. few more pieces and I'll be busy welding.

After a lot of research I found both tractors to be a good product and very similar in price. I just prefer the set up of the JD. I dont judge the machine by the dealer but I did think a good and reliable dealer was key in my purchase. Could not find a decent Kubota dealer here but based on a lot of positive feed back I am sure that is just a local issue. Plenty of lousy dealers for any brand. i personally found it tougher to find a good dealer than a good tractor.

My step father ran shell rotella -t in his case skidder, ford 9000 and the jd 350 dozer up until he retired.NEVER had oil related problems.
My DAD runs AMSOIL synthetic with there filters on thier 20,000 mile intervel program with a bypass filter and has over 300,000 on a dodge cummings turbo diesel(bought the truck new).THIS TRUCK EARNS ITS KEEP!!!
I use rotella in everthing I own even gas engines.With no problems so far .

The service tech did talk with New Holland and the noise had been reported already. The engineers at New Holland say the noise is resonance in the metal hydralic lines and is normal for the TC's. I always love that respnse " that's normal" normal does not mean it is right; oh well I have over 50 hours on the tractor now with no problems.

Have you considered a NEW Chinese Diesel Tractor? you might take a look. Several companys offer them starting at under $4,000. Of course that dosn't include implements...

I have always used Stihl saws. Currently I primarily use a 026 pro which is a very popular saw. Light and powerfull. The huskys also have a huge following and I have considered a 357. The best advice on a saw is get one that is comfortable to you, but I personally would stick with one of theese two brands. Up north where my property is Stihl is ptetty much the only brand. So If I drop something in the dirt or a need a part they are available at a local hardware store.

Split PTO shaft in half. Did not have a spare in the USA. JD Air shipped one from Japan.

When I started looking I was in the same boat. I looked at a lot of greys. For my own reasons I decided against that. In your price range I same mid 80's masseys and alice chalmers that were good buys. But for the money I just went new although I did spend a few thousand more. Good luck, part of the fun is shopping !

I haven't had any problems with this yet but it may be because of the FEL. I think my manual says six suit case style weights. I just intend to put a lttle dirt in the bucket if this is a proble during some special application.

I do lend mine to my neighbor. He likes to mow his yard with my finish mower. In return I can borrow his tractors anytime I need. He has 2 BIG JDs, at my disposal at all times.

If you are a distance from the dealer, check to see if he is going to charge you for hauling it for warranty repairs with that extended warranty. Sometimes it is cheaper to repair it yourself than pay for the haul job, unless you do some major damage to something.

Thanks for ALL of your help today Harvey! The boss wanted to go to the outlet mall in Waterloo today so I checked the farm stores and tractor places on the way, none open but I am not surprised. I will give it a try tomorrow, it just quit raining here after two days so too wet to bush hog anyway. Might be able to cut the grass if the sun stays out long enough to dry it up a bit.
