I would say that is a very good price. Make sure there aren't any hidden charges because that is a lot better price than I've been quoted around here (IN).

Looks like you will be saving around $4000-4500 over new price. I priced one (4310) out a month ago equipped with FEL and MMM and it came in around $21,300. Well worth the savings as long as it has been serviced properly.

Kevin, et al: I am beginning my research on products to help me clear my land in order to build eventually. I am looking at the Magnatrac. What are your thoughts on using the Magnatrac to push over and remove tree stumps? I will also need to put in a road/driveway. Approx 1/4 mile long and up an approx 14% incline. I will also want to "till" up the ground some after clearing the stumps. What are your thoughts. Thank you.

this is a big line of crap. I have a fairly new Mahindra and it isn't refurbished, painted over used eqipment. All this tells me is your local yocal Branson dealer wants you to buy his machine cause it is better than the competition.
In fact. send me that dealers name and number, I'd like to have a chat with him.

Update on the 4100 numbers: I really combed through my manual and found some of the same and some different numbers.

Front axle capacity.....992-1102 pounds.
Rear axle capacity......1984-2205 pounds.

There is no explanation as to why there is a range of weights, maybe for different tires???

I bought a MF 1440v with loader last fall and really like the unit. Purchased a bush hog rear discharge 72" finish mower last week and I have been trying it out a little (it is dry here) but I can't get the correct ground speed for mowing with this tractor. I have the 8x8 shuttle transmission and if I run in low range 4th gear it is traveling at 2.75 mph according to the chart in the book. If I run in high range 1st gear it is traveling at 5.56 mph. This is a difference of 2.8 mph between the two gears. The lower gear seems like you are just creeping along, and the higher gear shakes me and the mower really bad. I talked with the dealer today, and he agreed that there shouldn't be such a gap between gears, and he is talking to MF about it to see if anything can be done. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Thanks Tom and Art, not sure of the hours, the time meter died at 975, had a small fire in the wires almost penetrated the diesel storage. It runs very well and seems very strong engine wise. It starts on a few crank turns, the glow plug light lens is missing so you can see the wire, it smokes if you hold it more than 10 seconds, the manual say 10-20 seconds or upto 30 if cold. The transmission was 1.5 quarts low and only a very slow dime size drip after 4 days, the hydraulics on the front end loader is different, 1 leak is on the outside of shaft and 1 leak on the chrome shaft. The one was really bad dripping steady and then sort of quick and now only does it when 1st used, but quicks while using and doesn't afterwards either, the other leak only leaks at the chrome shaft. It does not seem to strong, it will pick up the tractor but will not pick up a load of dirt while moving, I have to stop and then lift and or curl the bucket. Is that normal for this size tractor?

The ear I am referring to is the bottom pivot on the bottom 2 3 point hookups where they attach to the transmission. In the middle is the hitch on each side of the hitch are two ears cast on the transmission. Starting from 1 3 pt bottom point a steel rod about 1" or better around starts at this point, then through a small bracket then through transmission ear, then through the hitch, then through the otherside ear, then another small bracket then the farside lower 3 pt. I can't see how it would be strong, it seems more for the bottom pivot to raise and lower the 3 pt hitch.

We have a Kubota B7100 HST, Diesel, 4x4, 715 hours, with front and back blades, tiller(Rhino) and box scraper(Tractor supply), runs good, good tires with chains and kept in the garage. My dad owned it and passed away recently. We have been asking $8750. Does this sound like a reasonable price? My dad took care of his equipment, so we would like to get a fair price. Any help would be appreciated.

I have to disagree with you on the UTB scene. Just last week I saw the new updated tractors. Very nice looking sloping hoods,flat deck operator's station and side mounted gear shifters. Never heard of a shortage of Universals either up here.

I love the SS, and no, I couldn't do the finish work without it. Too many trees on the side of a large hill, I won't trim around them by hand again!

When I bought my CUT, I was'nt sure if I wanted RED or Blue, so I pitted the 2 dealers against each other. The Case does not make one with SS and all the NH dealer had at the time was one with SS. But since I was trying to compare "apples to apples" I told him I did not want the SS. To get the sale, he offered me the SS for $100, the whole setup still came in $200 lower than the Case! Since I liked both dealers and they are about the same distance from me, I jump at it, and have no regrets.

Has anyone heard of Rimguard. It is a non-corrosive, non-toxic, biodegradable, non-rust causing, safe to -30 degrees Celsius and can be used with tubeless and tubed tires. At least that is what is says on the brochure. Made in Michigan it seems.

I have a MF 231 and the power steering was hard when I turned left only. As you say, like manual steering. I checked the hydralic lines, etc. and everything was okay and pumping as it should. My neighbor fixed it. I did not see it but evidently behind the panel beneath the steering wheel there is a set screw adjustment or an adjustment of some sort. Mine had worked loose. After adjusting it was like I had a new tractor...I had entertained trading off the MF 231 because I hated to mow with it as it was so hard to turn. Good luck.

TomG was right, I believe that a box blade will be good enough to do most of your work. If you are planning to dig a lot of holes with your tractor you might want a 30+ horse tractor.

One of these days I will find the Digital camera I want.

In the meanwhile the best description I can come up with is the tires I am currently running sort of split the difference between R4's and turfs.

The rears are a load range 'E' so it will certainly handle any load I throw at it.

What the heck is a Compact Utility Tractor anyway
