Yes, we have one like that too. Its a German Deutz 6' rear blade. It was bought along with 3 new German Deutz tractors, 2 of them 64 Hp and one being 24 HP, along with many other implements, all of them bering the Deutz name on them, back in 1969. It does not have side plates but it can be tilted 3 ways, horizontally, vertically and angled too.

I have a Kubota B=1700HSD 4 x 4 loader $ 54" deck. Very low hours/ great shape.<br>I am interested in possibly trading on a larger used machine in good shape w/ loader & belly mower. Any interested dealers in upstate NY or NE PA ?

I have the wife's approval to finally purchase a tractor. I have narrowed the field to the TC29D or L3010. I have a local dealer that I like and he sales both NH and Kubota. My wuestion is this: I have heard that both Kubota and NH will have special financing plans coming in the spring. Can anyone confirm that they normally do this in the spring or am I just waiting for no reason. I figured that I might as well wait to get the best possible financing if what I hear is true. Any input is appreciated!

I find the gear lever engagement very difficult at times to go from neutral to either low or high range. Anybody out there with a 4100 encountering the same problem.<br>Appreciate any information<br>Bobc

AC light bulbs don't work too well as the resistance varies so much when they are drawing current versus just measureing them with a VOM. I can suggest a test that works well if the rectifier bridge is in the alternator - not in the regulator....most are in the alternator and if so, put your ammeter in line with the battery cable. Look for the 1.2 ma drain. Disconnect/unplug the wires at the alternator and see if the drain goes away. Then reconnect everything, remove the meter from the battery circuit, and use it to check the voltage across the battery terminals. Then start the tractor, go to 75% RPM, and check the voltage across the battery again.

Hi Glen! I just finnished grading 3 driveways in my nabiorhood, The first one was my own 750' at 17 degree incline using my John Deere 790 with a 6' Work saver blade , With the 4 wd I was able to grade both up and down pulling a full load with no slippage . I also have the john deere 45 6 foot blade which is extremely well made its attached to a john deere 950 .the blade weighs about 350 pounds . I had my resevations about the worksaver blade because it did not seem to be as heavy or beafy as the john deere but it proved to be as good as the john deere working all 3 drive way equially well. I'm glad you found the connectors I was talking about it will make light hook up a breeze.

You're right Roger. Last winter never got cold and snowy enough at the same time for starting to be an issue. However, this winter is a different story in Michigan. I will probably have them installed when I send it to the dealer for it's 200 hr checkup/service about 20 hours from now.

I don't know the tractor and understand the front pump installation. Maybe I've got nothing useful to say and should just be quite. However, if the existing pump remains on the tractor, and it's an open centred system, than a line has to be provided to return the high-pressure flow back to the reservoir. I imagine that a hydraulic pump depends on hydraulic oil for lubrication, and simply disconnecting and plugging the suction and high-pressure lines wouldn't work.

I use a 5' blower with 24 PTO HP. The engine doesn't lug going through blower deck high snow in low range, unless it’s a packed snow bank. However, the fan doesn't clear snow quite fast enough off the auger. Periodically I have to stop and wait for some snow to clear, or I can lift the blower to take some off the top of the mount the auger is pushing. Of course, the snow would clear if I went slower, but I don't have that option with my gear tractor (My 1710 has four reverses, and I think the low range is slower than a 790). A blower with a larger fan would clear more snow but also would take more HP. However, it's not much of a problem, and I think my 5' blower is about right for a 1710. I suspect that a 6' blower would be a bit much for a 790 in deep snow.

I was quoated a price for the TC40 for 15,500 and the TC45 at 16,500. Both with no ss as far as I know but with FWD on both. My old tractor 54 Case bout had it. Want to find something within the same HP range because I still want to use my implements. Taking care of 16 acres and part is sloped a bit. Is this a pretty good deal? Would gladly accept any answers.

Rancher, I have owned a 1240 for about 9 months. It now has 85 hours on it and I am very pleased with the tractor. I have never operated a 1233, but I think it has probably many common parts to the 1240. So far my machine has been very reliable and I have used it on a variety of jobs with several different implements (box blade, rear blade, FEL, rotary cutter, snowblower). So far I have not encountered situations where the Iseki engine would be low on power. I think you usually run out of traction before the engine gets to a point where it would get overloaded or stall.

I paid about the same as Larry in Michigan for my TC29D a year ago August. I've been moving snow (lots) here in SE Michigan and have been able to do just fine with my turfs & no chains. Never have had a traction problem, steering is a little problematical only if I have to much down pressure on the FEL.

I would consider a 72" finish mower rather than a 60". The TC29 handles it just fine & mowing goes quicker. I use a Landpride Model 1572 (72") rear discharge on my 5 (hilly) acres. I found out from Landpride I can get mulching blades for it. I plan to order those soon.

AHA!! Thanks RickB for proving yet again that an old dog can indeed be taught -- if not new tricks then at least new facts! I had been given bad information by my NH guys re: clutch and passed it along. Should have actually tried the clutch to confirm its opreration of PTO AND drive train. As far as the amount of "airplay" this topic takes up on these forums, I lay it partially onto a desire to "have it all" and the fact that with the small frame Boomers you kinda lose one of the old line features - (while admittedly gaining a while slew of improved & new ones!!).

Mich: The topsoil used to finish filling an old cellar and constructing a leeching pit came the same way. Free to the trucker in exchange for building a road. Seems like that sort of deal may be common. At any rate, it would be good for anybody who does a large excavation to recognize that the topsoil removed is valuable. I suppose some contractors would tell a person they're doing them a favour by hauling it away.

Box scrapers take more traction than blades, especially when the scarifiers are used. Generally, a tractor can manage a longer blade than a box scraper. I run a 6' box scraper on my 24 PTO HP tractor that has turf tires. I am traction challenged, mostly when using the scarifiers, but the traction problem is manageable. I like the longer blade because it's better for side grading and it gives some blade outside the rear wheels.
