I am considering buying a 1991 Belarus 250 tractor with front loader, <br>mainly for light yardwork, moving dirt, spreading gravel, moving downed <br>trees, etc. Any advice? What should I pay for it?<br>Thanks <br>Hadi

I recently purchased a Ford 1215 with 320 hours. My nieghbor has a 1210 like the one you're considering. Our machines are virtually identical. They're 3 cylinder diesels with a displacement of 58.2 cu.in. (954 cc) and a compression ratio of 23:1 (I'm told @ 15 HP). The PTO horsepower on the Hydrostatic drive is 13.5 per my owners manual. In my opinion the 5' rotary is a little too much these machines. As for the bucket loader. I just bought a Great Bend 220 loader and I love it. Great Bend (Model 220), Woods (Model 1006) and Bush Hog (Model 1846QT) all make after market loaders that fit the 1210. All cost about the same, I paid $2,600 installed. Check out the individual manufacturer homepages for specs. All match up pretty equal. Woods offers 48", 54" and 60" buckets. Great Bend and Bush Hog just 48" and 60". Again, the 1210 is a little on the light side (1360 lbs w/ 4wd) for a loader, so be prepared to cary some extra wieght around or load your tires. If the price is right I think you'll like the 1210, with just 330 hours, its barely broken in. Enjoy.

That price also sounds fair to me, assuming it truely was cared for. Your question of which mower is better depends on you. The 60" will obviously cut more grass per pass, but will be a little more prone to scalp than the 54". This is true with any mower as deck size increases. We needed the 54" to fit between our fence and a few of our mature trees. My advice is to stay away from one of those lesser expensive aftermarket mowers. The JD mower may be more expensive but when it comes time to installation & removal, you'll save yourself alot of headaches. I mention this because you have a loader. So far, I've taken my mower deck off about 10 to 20 times per year for loader work. In the beginning I tried using it with the deck attached, and still do for "certain" things, but soon found using the loader with the mower attached is asking for trouble. Guys here on the CTB said it, but I didn't listen, well now I'm part of the "been there, done that" club. The risk of damaging the deck isn't worth the 5 minutes it takes to remove it. OMO. Hello Marty. I am new to the board and noticed your post about prices in your area. They sure are good prices. I have been given a price of $4950 for a YM1601D in my area of Tidewater, Virginia. I wonder if I could do better by dealing with whomever it was you dealed with and just pay for shipping. I may come out better in the long run. The dealership you dealt with, do they have a web page or email address by any chance? Any help would be appreciated because I would really like to get the best deal possible for my money.

Is there something in the tank (foriegn body) that rolls over and blocks the fuel egress? Is it more likely to happen at full throttle and/or with a low tank?

after looking for 6 months i finally bought a 3600. during that time i saw a couple of 4700 and a 5400 sell. the 5400 4x4 with loader and canopy and 100 hrs brought 19.5k. it sold in 1 day. it was a 98 model. in in texas. hope this helps!

In case anybody is wondering, I've decided to keep the industrial tires. I've mowed the yard twice with it and have no complaints about marks left by the tires. The industrial tires do leave some marks in the wet soft areas of the yard, but the marks go away after a day two. Actually, the caster wheels on the mower do as much or more damage as the tractor tires. Where the ground is dry, there's no problem. I also used the tractor to disk my garden with a 6' wide 20 blade disk and the industrial tires worked great. The garden was still wet and muddy from last week's rain and the disk kept plugging up, but the tires never loaded up and the tractor handled the disk easily.

Bought our 4WD 4100HST with 410 loader, ballast box, rear weights, and 54" mower for $16k. Didn't look at NH due to the one and only dealer's location, but a friend owns a TC33 supersteer and it is an awesome machine. Loader/mower installation & removal on the 4100 can easily be completed in less than 5 minutes. So far, the only complaint I have on the 4100 itself is lack of folding ROPS. Otherwise it is an excellent machine and VERY capable for a 20hp unit. Naturally, it would be nice if it had more power, but like one of the other guys said. You'll never here anyone say "This tractor has too much power" regardless of the size in question.

Since you are in Tidewater Virginia, I assume you have talked to Beverage Tractor, they handle Yanmars. They are located just east of Charlottesville and west of Charlottesville in Stuart Draft. I have visited them looking at their tractors but I have not yet purchased. Looking at JD 790, it is made by Yanmar.

I have a new John Deere 4300 hydro with a 420 loader. Occasionally, with the 3 point hitch raised, I hear the hydraulic system cycle (sounds like when you raise the hitch, but the hitch is already raised) and the hitch moves slightly. Does anyone know what's going on here?

I have a neighbor that is selling a 1900 ford 4wd with a 771 loader. What price range should i expect to pay for this equipment, it has been shedded, it has not had hard use. average # hours. Ag tires all the way around about 50% tread left.<br>also what HP is this tractor rated at, and how dependable is it.<br>I am use to a JD630 with a 48 loader (20000+ hours on it so far)<br>thanks

Mark, all the tractors you named are good ones. Go drive each of them and see which one "feels" best and most comfortable to you. Being a Kubota owner, I know I'd go for the Kubota, but that's a personal preference. And you really need to operate both a GST and HST. I know there are people who prefer a GST; that's the reason they make both, and as long as there are people who prefer them, they should keep on making them, but personally I have a hard time imagining why anyone would want the GST over the HST, which just seems so much simpler, quicker changing directions, safer, etc., especially if you're going to be using a front end loader. In other words, I'd go for the larger Kubota with HST, but if you drive any tractor and there's something that doesn't feel right to you, and you buy it, it'll probably get worse instead of better with time. Buy the one you're happiest with.

The deck is now fixed. NH would not replace the gear box, but the dealer did on his own. He felt due to the problems I had experienced, it was the right thing to do. HE also sent out a brand new Bush Hog rear mount finish mower for me to use while mine was out of service. Like I said before, the dealer here has made all the diference. NH has called me a couple of times, but really hasn't offered much of anything. They said they were "sorry" for the number of breakdowns. I guess I shouldn't complain, at least they called and showed concern. That is more than some do. They called the dealer, but my issues weren't with him in the first place, they were with NH's area rep. I did notice that the deck was much harder to install than any I have owned. It won't fit under the tractor when equipped with Super Steer. We had to jack the machine up for both installation and removal. Everything is running good now, so time will tell how it holds up. I bought a JD 4300 last Oct. with 430 loader w/73" h.d bucket, Sync-reverse trans. R-4 tires, Hiniker 6'box scraper and recently a Rhino 5' rotary cutter and a 60" King Kutter rototiller. I am very happy with this tractor and the way it handles the implements. Also credit to my dealer, Hollingsworth's of Ontario,Or. Jim in Middleton

I know this is an old post, but did you buy the F1900. Sounds like a lot of hours. But for $3,500 with a loader sounds pretty reasonable. A loader cost $3000.00 new. If you did buy the tractor, how is it holding up. I purchased a F1900 recently with a 6' mower and blade for $3000.00. It only had 600 hours though. I have found it to be a very nice tractor and it does a good job for what I need it for, mainly mowing.
