SJ I do alot of work on large hore farms in Delaware and Maryland, fences on mowing. I have two farms with 2mile plus lanes to drive . When I'm cutting the lanes I have to get back to the main barn area when it rains or thunderstorms. I have been caught going in slow before and I don't like it! The fact of the matter to me is this. The tractor is said to redline at a certain RPM, it should do tis no matter what range it's in and the ones I tried and the reports I recieved were the same. In high range it wont pull full RPM's. Now granted this may NOT be present in all L3010's but there has been enough of a response to this issue that it should be adressed by Kubota. I worked for General Motors Corp. for 12 years and believe me I know what your saying. I was told to tell my people many times just get it out hte door the dealer will fix it. Bullshit!!!! they need to fix it right before it gets dumped on the dealer. Otherwise good dealers like Carver Equipment will have to take the heat for something that the factory should have done right the first time!!!!! This was my intent in the frist place , find people who have exp. the same problem and get it fixed, if you read my first posts that is what I said . Lets get it fixed before we have another unsatisfied customer. My business is customer related buy far the most important issue with me. I try to do it right the first time everytime. Scaper<br>

Long currently sells three lines of tractors. The

in Romania by UTB. It is basically a Fiat design, updated by Long for the US market.
This line has been imported since the mid '70s or so. They have lately picked up
the Farmtrac line. This is a Ford Design built in India, if I'm not mistaken. They most recent
addition is the Farmhand line (I may not have the name just right). This is a compact tractor
built in Korea using a Mitsubishi 4 cylinder engine. This is one of best equipped compacts I've
seen. It comes standard with remote outlets and live PTO. The castings are also very beefy. The Romanian
Long tractor is fine, if you know a few quirks. First, never leave the PTO clutch engaged. It's like
standing on the foot cluth continuously. The thrust load on the crank is tremendous, and will cause thrust
bearing failure, wrecking the block. The fuel injection systems are not always the best. However, they
can be rebuilt with real CAV parts, curing all problems. They will leak some oil. It's a combination of
rough machined surfaces and poor quality gasket materials. Long has fixed the major leaks with improved
(non-Romanian) seals. As far as the rest go, buy a quart of oil once in awile. It's a lot easier than
trying to fix them all. All in all, not a bad machine. By the way, if you know of any used units for sale,
let me know. I'm looking for one. Can you get more of a reccommendation than that?

Ron, I owned a Honda Lawn Tractor and the unit was pretty well made. Their compacts should be similar. If you want a backhoe try the link below:<br>http://www.cadplans.com/<br>This outfit designs some very interesting backhoes, one of which would probably fit your unit. Their design is off the 3-pto but from the construction I would say they put very little strain on the tractor. They are plans but, it seems, you can get a lot of help.<br>Good luck.

Smith & Wesson if you catch them and State Farm if you don't. <br>My Kubota stays locked in the garage when not in use (This also keeps the daughter and neighbors kids from playing on it.) I own a Kubota, but I think the MF are great machines and I know that my local dealer has a good reputation for service. If you want the work done at an affordable price go with the MF. If it's resale your interested in go w/ the green or orange crew. Remember, it's just a tractor!!!!!

You are better off with a used low-hour well maintained kubota or deere. You don't have to buy new--they are that good. My boss bought a Rhino for small jobs on his horse ranch. The price was cheap and figured it would'nt get used much so what the heck. In less than 25hrs. the coupler on the hyd. pump broke, all the knobs are falling off , paint peeling, loud, vibrates, can't get to the gas cap ( its under the dash ) thus spilling fuel all over, fried one glow plug shorting out the entire electrical system, very slow hyd., notchy-hard shifting, loose bolts all over, no room in the rider compartment, you are constanting hitting shift levers with your feet. Hard cold weather starting, if fact the starter shims keep getting misalined and grinding the gears. Is that enough???
