Does anyone have experience with a Honda H6522 Compact tractor? What about backhoes on these small machines? Are they strong enough? Is the backhoe practical? or would it just scratch the ground. I would like to dig in soft sand ( a spade sinks to the top if stepped on ) I'm in the market for one but it needs to be small enough to float across a lake on a barge to a remote cottage site. Backhoe attachment important. Have had experience with older borrowed Yanmar and liked it but have never seen another advertized. This message moved from the machinery chat page. Ron, I owned a Honda Lawn Tractor and the unit was pretty well made. Their compacts should be similar. If you want a backhoe try the link below:http://www.cadplans.com/This outfit designs some very interesting backhoes, one of which would probably fit your unit. Their design is off the 3-pto but from the construction I would say they put very little strain on the tractor. They are plans but, it seems, you can get a lot of help.Good luck. ....

Hi Ron - I just bought a Honda 6522. I was a little nervous about the purchase because Honda no longer imports this tractor to the U.S., but a local dealer said parts would still be available. I have heard nothing but good reviews about the tractor and I couldn't pass up the deal. It's a 1991 with 64 hours on it. Looks brand new. It has a front snowblower and cost me $8,500.A college near me has one with a front loader and backhoe. They like it a lot and say the backhoe does a good job.Good luck,Jon ....

I don't know anything about this product except that Honda no longer imports them to US. I am looking at buying one with a hoe and loader. Does anyone know anything about them and what they should go for used. It has 300 hours on it and is about 4 years old, looks almost new. They are asking 13K. Also, can you still purchase a scraper and post hole digger?
