A second tool rack offered pinches on the square tubing of the hitch receiver and that may get around your TnT situation. A wood box could be fabricated to hold you stuff and angle irons could be built to hold the box in place from some of the extra frame holes supplied in the tool rack.

The tool rack was designed more for your average homeowner for holding shovels, racks, brooms, etc.

If you laid all your saws and fuel cans out on the floor and compressed them like in storage you could measure this and give me an idea of the required footprint required for a box (i.e 16" x 36", etc.) and we could fab something up.

Do you put your saws in cases? I have a Homelite, so it must be stored in a molded case since the chain lub oil drips everywhere when setting). Once it has leaked a pint or quart of oil I pour it out when starting a brush fire.

I have a Kelly 3-point mounted to my MF135. Don't have any manuals, etc. and also don't know model number.

Suggest taking it apart and take the pieces to a local distributor handling seals like Motion Industries, Applied, Roger Zatkoff, etc. They should be able to get you fixed up.

I've passed on the diagram you sent me to dozens of people with the fix. It has worked perfectly! I haven't had any issues with my 7275 in years. I fixed the loading mounting bracket issue some years ago. Love the tractor!

Can you tell us more about the crappy performance. Maybe the unit is set up wrong, not level, etc.

As a contractor, I mowed a nice little old lady's lawn for about 6 years til she died. She owned half of a duplex that had a larger lawn than the other half. The second half was owned by a divorced lady that mowed her own lawn and it looked terrible. Toward the end, she asked for advice in getting her lawn looking nicer. I asked her if she ever got the blade sharpened. She said no! To me, it looked like the lawn mower ripped off the grass rather than cutting it. She didn't have much money, so finally one day I volunteered to sharpen the blades.

The blade was on backwards. She bought the mower from a friend that had it only for part of a season and gave her a great deal. Somebody at Sears put the blade on that way!

So, my point is, maybe the mower isn't as bad as you think. The 1000 series Cubs are entry level and should be about the same as a Murray, Craftsman, White, etc. that are all made by MTD. Depending upon it use, these mowers can give dependable service for 5 to 15 years or even more. The 2000 series are much stronger and better units, while the 3000 series which I prefer have hydraulic lift and power steering.

It all depends on three things. How thick is the underbrush, how hard do you want to work at it, and how much money do you want to spend.<br>

1. You can purchase an inexpensive (light duty) string trimmer from a box store that accepts interchangeable heads. You can also purchase a separate head to do light duty brush trimming. I would think you could trim up to about 1/4" diameter brush or up to about 3/4" diameter thistle and red or rag weed. The trimming attachment has a rough time if not impossible to cut if the stuff isn't green. I think a trimmer is about $120.00 + $75.00 for the attachment.<br>
2. The same approach is available through Stihl. They have their own quick-change system which is more of an industrial/commercial grade. I would consider this to be (medium duty) and about 1 1/2 the cost of topic 1.<br>
3. If you have really dense underbrush you may want to rent or purchase a DR trimmer. These can be heavy duty on two wheels for balance. I think they have models that will cut up to about 1 1/2" diameter wood.<br>

I have option 1 and use an axe or machete to get the big stuff under control. The exercise is good for you (doing it the hard way) and keeps your heart rate up and keeps your arteries clean.

I own the rental house and my renters are moving out after 10 years. A good chance that my daughter may move in. Just wanted to fix it up nicer for her. Some people put tile floors in the garage and I've heard of large garage rubber mats. I may go the rubber mat direction to coverup the spalling.

I agree, whatever patching that would be done would need to be flexible. That's asking allot!

I just use standard lead acid batteries. For lawn, garden, tractor and marine/(Deep cycle) stuff I like the Deka brand available at my local Cub-Cadet/CNH dealer. They are reasonably priced (about $37.00 for lawn tractor batteries with 350 CCA's-just bought two this morning) and they last between 4 and 6 years.

I estimated that there were about 750-1000 people at the tea party I attended in Midland, MI. The local news said there were 450 people there. The main theme was not against a specific political party but the corruption and uncontrolled spending by both. There wasn't a person of color to be seen anywhere in the crowd. Many emphazised what is going to happen to our next generation. I saw all age groups but the majority were middle aged and older.<br>

I felt good for attending but see the need to keep focused on these issues and make my thoughts known to others in the future and keep the pressure on so they hear us!<br>

Liberals feel that we are cry-babies for losing the election. I see it that we, the working minority, are going to be forced to pay by taxation for the life styles of others that were foolish in there expenditures or for those that are not willing to work but want the same things as me.<br>

I don't feel sorry for those that have balloon mortgages or those that over bought homes with no money down. With the most recent banking changes, I understand we are back to 100% mortages again. The liberal news media is saying that the economy is coming back as evidenced by a spike in home purchases. Most didn't learn from recent mortgage mistakes and are tempted into making the same mistakes again.<br>

I'm concerned what events will be triggered when/if GM and Chrysler file bankruptcy. It could cause a major upset with the supplier network that will migrate across the entire nation into a domino effect.

I live in Mid-Michigan and the economy is supposed to be terrible, which I agree that it is. My workload has gone to "zero".

We took our daughter out for her 25th birthday on Saturday, January 31. We couldn't make up our mind where to go, so we finally decided about 3 pm and called to make reservations. We wanted to eat between 6 & 7PM. We called four places that were all booked solid till 8:30. We finally got somebody to squeeze us in.

We have a fairly large mall that is rumored to be in financial difficulties, however, the traffic around it is terrible. I had trouble parking near the Sears store which is one that is supposed to be having trouble. Is everybody just looking and not buying?

What is the scoop. Coleman's brand of generators is called "Powermate". Pramac's residential brand is called "Powermate" as well. Are these the same?

Dennis, FYI. On Coleman's website they sell a professional grade "Plus" that has Honda engines.

I bought a Coleman 5500 Watt for my renters some years back since the power goes out often in the country for a half day or so at a time. Haven't had any problems with it.

My input is Unless you use it lots, buy a cheapie like the Coleman. Keep fresh gas at hand and run it for a few minutes every couple of months under load. Put the money you saved in a safe place and keep it for your retirement or take a nice vacation.

If you are only lifting a short distance like 8" was mentioned, another completely different approach is purchasing one of those electric motor powered scissor jacks that runs off of your cigarette lighter for about $70.00. I use one of those for all sorts of portable lifting applications. I also have one of those battery jumper boxes which also has the cigarette lighter outlet. I would guesss this concept could be used to mount beneath the box frame and provide the necessary lift.

Like Murf says, most calipers sieze up in damp regions of the country if they (the vehicle) sets around for any length of time. Here in Michigan (the rust belt) it is very common.

If it had lots less miles than 35K, I think most auto manufacturers would warrant it. As an example, I bought my wife a used 2008 Taurus X with 9,000 miles on it this spring. It had been at the dealership during the winter months and sat around I'm sure getting some salt spray from test drives. After we had it a few weeks the brakes got a real flutter in them. The rotors had rusted from sitting around. The local Ford dealer took a very light skim on them and now they are perfect which was covered under warranty.

There may, however, be some sort of defect. A friend from Knoxville was telling me today about his one neighbor that has a Toyota van. She took it to the dealer for an oil change at 50,000 miles. They had always provided oil changes and service. They told her she needed a new engine cause it was all gummed up inside. They wanted about $4,000.00 to do it. After lots of questions, they offered to do it for $2,300.00. After my friend did some searching on the internet, he found out that Toyota has many silent recalls. Apparently this was the case. This certain engine had a defective vent and some other issues that caused premature engine failures. After allot of discussion, she got a new engine "Free".

Rear ballast is a big issue that many overlook and run into trouble or are dangerously near the edge without knowing it. I agree that liquid in the rears is good for heavy duty applications but sure can put a footprint when doing light duty jobs like mowing or when using rear implements that don't require it. (Examples) Rear ballast can overly compress the soil when doing gardening and when establishing grade and doing lawn installation.

I'm planning to offer a ballast system by springtime that is easily removeable and affordable. I'm in proto-typing and testing stages. When it is ready it will appear in my other TP Bad River ad.

I'd search around for pricing on a new replacement cylinder. Why do you need a 7" diameter cylinder? That is really big! Prince is one brand I use as well as chief. My guess is somewhere between $500 and $1,000.

If you send me the pieces we probably could weld it for you or make a new steel one (best choice). Leather packings are still common. I get seals from Roger Zatkoff seals. Our shop is about a mile off the I-75 expressway (exit 149A) a couple of miles before the Zilwaukee bridge. A Zatkoff branch office is the next exit over the bridge and make 3 lefts and a right into their parking lot.

My guess is a 5 or 6 inch would be plenty big!

I'm a supplier to the auto industry and fear if they file chapter 11 that I will be holding the bag on more than $150,000.00 of product that was recently shipped in the last 60 days. If they file, they keep the merchandise and I get nothing. Bankrupcy courts also go back about 6 months and force you to give back payments in that time period to redistribute, first to those that have secured loans/sales.

If they file, that means my privately owned business will most likely fail? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I always wave the U.S. flag here. American cars are lots better than many suggest. When they said on "Good Morning America" that the execs may not make it to D.C. driving there cars that was a slap in the face.

I agree that there is waste, high wages and rediculous legacy costs that the big 3 must condend with. Something needs to be done!

There were different groups of the Cub/Mitsubishi series. Models 7205,7235,7265,7275 and 7305 and possibly more. (7000 was the series) while (23) in your case is 23 HP and the (0005) meant hydro while (0000) were gear. I'm sure Art White would sell you the component you need. In addition to model you should also give him the serial number to be sure.

In my opinion, it is worth spending the $150.00 and getting the proper part. My time is too valuable to be spending looking for shortcuts. But if you can easily get the same part for less, go for it!

I have the 7275 which is a 1994 or 1995 model. Mine has about 820 hrs. on it which is low hours for its age, but has been an excellent machine with only minor problems.
