I was recently clearing some brush with a landscape rake and the tractor was acting like I was stuck on on a stump. I would move forward about 5ft and it would stop, I would back up 5ft and it would stop. If I lifted the front up with the loader I could back up and it would still stop, when I disengaged the FWD I could continue to back up with the front wheels off the ground. Later I tried the tractor and went about 300ft and it seemed ok, then I used it last night about a 100ft and it started binding in front. Has anyone had a similar experience?
I had the front axle replaced under warranty about 2yrs ago when it cracked the axle housing. I have not been working it very hard since I had the axle replaced, I begining to think the Blue is only good for mowing the lawn, not any real tractor work. I am really thinking I should have went orange when I purchased it, I did receive the Ford employee discount which was a great incentive.

Just dropped off the tractor at the shop... I will hope this dealer does a better job putting it together. For the rest of you boomer owners go easy on the front axle it is very expensive to repair. I'm afraid to get the phone call from the shop with the total, they said it would be almost a month before they would have it done. Too much work not enough service guys.

The tractor is a 1999 so regular warranty all done. I was thinking the axle might be covered since it was serviced only 2yrs ago. Maybe just wishfull thinking.... Anybody have any luck with NH service reps?? Also tractor has about 450hrs, when I see post with people having 14-1500 hrs on these without major problems I begin to think they are not working them or theyre just driving them to work. ....

I work my TC29 pretty hard, but don't have an FEL on it. I would think hard FEL use would be hard on the front axle on any tractor. Don't know if you have one or not.
Its main use is mowing, but 1/2 the time it also is used with a backhoe, box blade, dirt scoop and for pulling brush and rocks & carrying firewood. Seems to be a tough little tractor as far as I'm concerned. Almost 600 hours at this point; the only problem was a cracked piece of plastic that warranty covered.
Good luck with yours,
Bill ....

I assumed when I bought the tractor that when they added loader that it was designed to have one. When they give it a #800 capacity that the loader can lift #800 without breaking. They give the three point a capacity of #1300 pounds, thats a lot of weight, but the tractor should be able to lift it and carry it without breaking. Also it should be able to do all this for many hours. Heck if I wanted to buy something that was going to break I would have saved some $15000 and bought the Craftsman tractor that my wife thought I needed. Getting the employee discount blinded me to others, I in the process of starting a lancscaping company and you can bet this is the last piece of blue in the stable. ....

I just checked out you picture #2 that can be hard on a tractor getting stuck that deep. I know I have been there, had to get the neighbors backhoe to lift and pull me out. Nothing like a $15000 lawn ornament. ....

My neighbor heard me spinning and pulled me out with his old Ferguson.

I know a lot of old-timers that will tell you that no farm tractor was meant to have an FEL on it. Then there are lots of them that have been used and abused for years with apparently no ill effect.

I don't think your experience with your tractor is typical. Hope you stay after the NH folks until they make it right.

Good luck,
Bill ....

Sorry to hear about your experience. The is is only a 180 day warranty on replacement parts. But If there is a service issue noted by NH you may be able to get IT repaired. You should check out the new DA series tractors. More lifting capacity heaver duty front axle. I my self have never run across frond axle damage on any of the class II TC tractors. We have quite a few contractors that use them 8 hours a day with no problem, FEL and, or Backhoe use. ....

This is a non supersteer axle, the first time I had problems with it the actual casting cracked like you cracking an egg. I afraid the original repairs were not quite right since the axle has had plenty of lube and has not leaked since it was repaired. would like to find one that was still under warranty and swap axles and have it repaired, this would be dishonest, but two axles issues with 500 hrs is a crime.... It is now almost 3wks and the service guy still has not done the exploratory inspection of the axle, still no estimate on $$$$$ it will cost. I'm hoping he can determine that a part failed and have NH rep look at it to maybe get some assistance. Crossing the fingers on this one, the first repair was $1600 for new housings, ring and pinion and all misc parts plus labor...... YKM NH... your killin me new holland ....

I know that feeling of frustration. I did not have the best of luck with mine, did not want to own it once out of warranty but cost me 3k for that piece of mind. Not to mention mine was SS so it initially cost more than the 2910 I traded it for.

Keep at them and perhaps they will make it right for you. I would suspect if this happened twice there is an underlying reason. The statement Art made about a recall may help you, it indicates an issue with them. I can tell you, I am pleased with the reliability of the Kubota but miss the better ergonomics of my 29D. Understand it is being updated, may make the difference.

Good luck! ....
