Does having 3PH Quick Adpaters really make it that much easier to add and remove implements ?

Welcome to our little corner of the interwebs!!

Quick Hitch ((QH) units are great, if the implement you're trying to hitch up to is compatible. In a nutshell here's my issue with them. The 3 connection points on most implement are in a vertical plane. In order to snag all 3 with the QH they must be exactly the same spacing as the hooks on the QH. Very few are. The upper point also needs to spaced such that you can get the hook to go in. It rarely happens. Finally the vertical plane of the hitch must be exactly the same as the 3pth of the implement or the upper hook is too far for / aft.

From my perspective the quick hitch arm ends for the lower lift arms are far superior from an ease of use point of view. Combined with a hydraulic top link it makes switching implements a breeze.

Best of luck. ....

Quick Hitches can be great but your mileage may vary baased on your circumstances.

If you are buying all your implements at the same time you can make sure they are all QH compatible.

If you you already have your stuff you need to check that the width is less than 27 3/16 inches and for compact tractors they are 7/8 inch Cat I.

The top link can be an issue also often there can be support braces in the way or the top link is too narrow for the hook.

But QH is really great when you have some heavy unweildly implement to attach, cannot be beat.

Best of luck ....

I have a JD QH on my JD 972. The hitch makes it easy to attach the implement but does nothing to help with the PTO. It would take me 23 minutes to hook that up and countless scrapes and cuts. There is a product out now called a PTO Link and it shortens the PTO hook up time to 20 seconds or less. A bit pricey at about $250 but my hands and time are worth it.

Check out this video for a PTO alternative attachment method.
