My 2005 CC 6284 Cat. 3 cyl. diesel engine needs new Glow Plugs. No one seems to have the ones that came in the engine from the factory....Harness-#Cy-119803-77830.

So, what are the Brands, and number for the replacement.?

That is if anyone knows.

That part shows as Cub Cadet part # KB-15694-65512 which is interesting because except for the "KB-" that is a Kubota glow plug part number.

Kubota 15694-65512 alternative replacement glow plugs are Denso DG-157 or NGK Y-702R.

Are you sure you need glow plugs though? Pretty unusual that you'd have all 3 go out, especially on that machine. There was a hard start issue on those CC's, it turns out they had a auto glow plug relay that only gave 5 seconds of power regardless of temperature. That's not enough for a cold day.

Best of luck. ....

Thanks for the tip, Murf. The ones in the #6284 probably are okay, But, due to the 534 hours on these original glow plug, I feel they need changing before winter gets here. I'm a maintenance freak when it comes to keeping motorized equipment in shape. Also, I like the NGk brand.
I have heard that longer the glow plugs remain in a engine, it becomes difficult to remove then...breaking the off in the head. ....

After checking the two glow plugs supplied by Murf, I find there are several...actually about 50 or mote that is listed in the cross reference chart. But, that may be a problem, all due to the fact most of these listed have difference thread sizes, and filament tip lengths, thread length, and thread pitches.

The NGK Y-702R is 11 volt, 10mm threads, 1.25mm thread pitch, ..67mm overall length, and 17.25mm glow tube length.

Nowhere is there any information on what Perkins-Shubaur used in the Caterpillar C1.1 diesel engine. ....

I think your are conflating the way gasoline engine maintenance was on a 1970's car where you would tune up every 20,000 or even more often, change points condenser and plugs.

A spark plug in a gas engine is constantly sparking. A glow plug is just for starting, it just needs to get hot once for each session, very simple.

With just 534 hours your Tractor is still in the diaper stage of its life, many many years are left.

That said I am more of the leave well enough alone mentality.

If you want to tinker, tinker away, but like you said you may fall into a bonanza of opportunities to tinker more if you snap the head off one of those fully functioning glow plugs.

But please enjoy your self Best of Luck.
