I have the 1988 Belarus with D242 motor, that is stuck. Removed the starter, and clutch cover to check the movement, but the flywhell with long bar moves it only about 1/4" on the outer edge of flywheel, both ways...only. Checked the pistons by taking the caps of the connecting rods off, and pushing pistons upward, then putting them back on, and closing, but flywheel will not come lose.

We've had good luck freeing up stuck engines over the years by pouring a little diesel into each cylinder and letting it soak for a few days, then trying turning it over by towing it fore & aft with another tractor or a truck.

You can put a LOT more torque on the engine by pulling it.

Best of luck. ....

Have you got an update on the stuck engine? If you removed the rod caps and where able to move the pistons then that eliminates them. have the clutch engaged and then try to bar the flywheel, that will rule out anything after the engine. If it is still stuck then the problem would be in the front of the engine, gears there drive the cam, fuel pump and counter shaft. Let us know what you find! ....
