I have no idea how correct this post is but found another post telling LS made some of the boomers models. I was not aware that LS built any New Holland tractors but would think a quick call to a New Holland dealer might get that answer for if they are trying to sell you a NH surely they can tell you the difference.

If LS makes the model of NH you want, it does not mean it would be a direct copy of their own label. I would think NH would have their specs it was to be built to and also options. ....

Thanks for the input kthompson. I will try the NH phone call trick, but we all know that each dealer will have their "better" points to make on what they are selling. The guy that wants to sell me the LS is pushing the product as a well organized company with a huge parts base and as good as NH. I guess it may be like Walmart selling Mossburg guns and the local gun dealer complaining how Mossburg makes a lesser model for Walmart to sell for cheaper? ....

No brand has all the best points even if built by another brand or it builds the other brand. Years ago worked for a retailer and we sold a brand that built (not heavy equipment) the same line of product for a major retailer to higher specs than their own label.

LS is not in my part of the world. I have heard of enough problems getting parts for what were very popular local labels to be gun shy on such any longer. As I say, there is a reason the name brands are name brands. Parts and service is one big reason regardless of the product or industry.

Before I would buy a brand of heavy equipment would look at the nearest dealership and think was I pleased with them. If yes now what if they closed, where is the next line of dealerships? Visit at least one of them. Parts counter people can be good sources of advice. If you can buy one lunch. Just ask about ability to get parts, what kind of time table and so forth. Or just stand back and listen to the other customers at the parts counter. Also listen if their parts people are helpful or not. One day you will need it. kt Hey if NH is built by LS their parts people know it, ask about any problems getting those parts and are the parts interchangeable across the labels. They may not know that but probably do. Again, from what I found they were only credited with the Boomer model line and not sure if all of it. No idea how good that line was. The local NH dealership was heavy into commercial and has been hurt.

I have a Boomer 35. It says right on it on the back LS. NH had them make them for a bit after the Tsunami hit and wiped out the Japan plant. Still came with NH warranty and NH service ....
