Just bought a MF1030 and in neutral the tractor does not hardly roll at all. Seems that a brake is dragging. It seems that it takes a lot of gas to get the tractor moving.

We just sent one to the auction that way! It was a gear drive and that is normally a problem we find with hydros because of lack of use. ....

What is the best way to fix this problem? ANy idea on cost and are parts available. I do most of my own work. ....

I didn't really look at it that close but, the first thing that I'd do is make sure that the linkage is free and not binding causing the brakes to hold on. ....

Not familiar with the M-F line but on mine, the moving parts (from the pedal but especially in the wheels) get gunky and the return springs (to retract the shoes) weaken in time. Once you get the wheels off, cleaning and freeing is not a big job, and new springs don't cost much. ....
