Hello guys it's Peter up here in Wisconsin with some mechanical questions- I'm the one with the unplowed 10 acre field that I've been using my 7 tine cultivator and 2 bottom plow to turn over unplowed ground to ready for vegetable planting. In a related question I have a stalled tractor left out in the field wondering if you can give me some advice on.When I was plowing this weekend I ran out of diesel and tractor stopped. I put more diesel in and tractor will no restart -In order to restart diesel tractor after running out of fuel I've heard to find bleeder cap on fuel line and crack that to get diesel moving manually then restart engine or do you have another advice on how to restart diesel engine after running out of fuel ?where is the bleeder cap usually located ? Second question - My battery terminals became loose after time and I pulled them both off and cleaned them up and went to re attach them -now when I put the second terminal back on the tractor sparks at the terminal and wants to start so I cannot put the negative terminal back on - The key has three positions-far left for glow plug-up center for off and far right for start - Is it possible that my key position is wrong and key is on when I try to re attach battery terminal and tractor trys to start if key is not set to the off position- I have tried attaching positive terminal first the negative and vice versa and switching key position to each of three positions to make sure key switch is not turned on -every time I try to reatach battery terminal to battery tractor trys to start up and I cannot restart tractor and it sits out in the field. Plowing has beenn going well -just ran out of fuel and cannot reattached battery terminals - Thanx again for your time and advice -hope that your enjoying your late summer-Peter

In neutral, throttle set to minimum, someone to move the key-switch to whatever position doesn't engage the starter while you connect the second terminal quickly and firmly.

Until someone who knows that model comes on, to learn how to bleed it, as well as service it, get yourself a manual.

Bleeding fairly straight forward crack a couple fuel lines at the injectors. Turn over till you get fuel squirt, retighten. Do not use ether to start. You will dry the cylinders and lock up engine if you use to much. If you have to use something to help start use wd40 ....
