I just got a 1967 4020 diesel. Where are the hydro and transmission dipsticks and fill caps? Don't have a service manual yet. Thanks in advance.

Not sure on a JD but look for the dipstick near the seat area. Either right in front of it or even under the seat. As to the fill my guess it is on the rear of the transmission with transmission and lift using same fluid and thus same dip stick and fill point.

Quick recommendation, if you are just getting this tractor and don't know when fluids and filters were changed it is smart to do so to have reference point from here on. I would change ALL filter. ....

I'ts been quite a while but I had a 4010 from which the 4020 a newer model of the same basic tractor with some improvements and the Power Shift transmission option was offered.
Menory tells me the dipstick was on the platform ahead of the seat having a kurnled nut type grip about an inch in diamater. The fill cap was along side the seat rail below the seat.
The filter is under a cast iron cover on the side of the transmission with a single capscerw in the center holding it on.
Back then Deere had a fluid called 303 transmission and hydraulic fluid. I don't know if they still use it or have gone to a different fluid.
If this tractor is new to you and you don't know the service history, I'd go to a Deere dealer for the correct fluid and filter and change it.
Will fit type fluids from fleet stores can cause brake chatter and rough shifting if yours is a power shift model, so I'd get the correct stuff.
Frank. ....
