I have a turf gator that was running well and all of a sudden it would not start. It is a gas gator and when I push on the pedal I just got clicking noises and then it would occasionally start up, but not very often. I changed the solenoid and spark plug but still clicking when I push the gas pedal.Certainly sounds like an electrical problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check battery voltage, should be over 12. Make sure all battery, starter and ground connections are clean and tight. ....

Try removing starter and file flywheel teeth and starter gear teeth. A mushroomed backlash develops and doesn't allow starter to engage. Good luck. ....
