Aloha from Hawaii!
I have a old 6x4 that I have to replace the engine on... again. I'm wondering if I can convert it to diesel instead of gas? Which engine would you all recommend? What else on the 6x4 would need to be changed?
Thank you inadvance!
Tammie

If that model came from the factory with the buyer's choice of gas or diesel, you might have a practical chance with the diesel that would have been fitted. Even so, I doubt Gator made its own engines, so the question is whether Gator got both engine suppliers to supply engines with identical mounts and other connections. ....

Completely different motor mounts welded into floor pan, different wiring harness, different fuel filter and pump system with fuel return lines, inner and outer air filter, different drive clutch with heavier flyweights. That's what comes to mind right now, I'm sure there is more. The diesel that goes in the 6x4 is the Yanmar 3TN66 and, like the FD620D gas motor, complete motors are no longer available from Deere. ....
