Hey all, looking for some help with how Kubota treats their dealers. Wondering if anyone knows how their dealer support compares to others - JD, etc. For example, co-op advertising, floor planning, low-rate retail financing, etc. Also, heard that they cut up to 10% of their dealers each year. Anyone heard anything about this? Why? Steve

Not in the tractor business at all other than consumer. The Kubota dealership I did deal with stopped with Kubota over how close they were allowing other dealerships. He told me he spent a lot of money to develope Kubota sales in two different cities and had been promised them. After establishing the markets they allow other dealerships to open.

In my county it seems they are protecting the one dealership as there is not another within 50 miles. Same area has two JD and one very large New Holland and some others. Funny thing on companies, know a previous dealerhsip for Agco who was terminated due to another product line on the lot, yet they allowed local Kubota dealerhsip to remain as Agco dealership and only one in many miles, maybe 100 or more. ....

A friend of mine, Bob Wolff has a Case dealership in Woodbury, CT he has been trying to get a Kubota dealership, however Kubota will not grant one to him since the nearest is approximately 28 miles away and the next closest is about 34 miles away. Here I see Kubota keeping dealership competition (within brand) to a minimum. However, the two dealerships in the area need to take lessons in customer service from Woodbury Tractor. With that said, in retrospect I would have bought a Case DX 33 from Bob just because the customer service is that much better. It that reason why I bought my Woods BH-70X from Woodbury Tractor at a much more competitive price than the two area Kubota dealers for the same product. ....

Several years ago a good sized second or third generation Case/IH dealership a couple countys from me all of a sudden had quite a display of Belarus in the front line along the road. a few months later, not a Belarus to be seen. I always wondered what happened, whether Belarus disapeared by choice or on demand by Case/IH. Frank. ....
