hi, my newly aqiured tractor with 479 hrs. is d.o.a. anyone have any helpfull advice for ado it your selfer? dealer says there is fork internal that was a defected part . that needs replacing avery labor intencive job BIG bucks.any help would be apreceated.

How big is your tractor? Do you have a workshop and a lot of tools? Do you have a shop repair manual for your tractor, including the torque specs for your bolts?
It is a labor intensive job. Depending on the model number of your tractor, it may be something that you won't be able to handle without a gantry crane, heavy duty tools, and a large workshop.
I have a friend who overhauls LARGE tractors for a living. I work with him quite frequently. He may have a few suggestions for you. If you can provide me with a tractor make, model, serial number, etc......I might be able to help you find the proper manual that explains the procedure. You can then read through the procedures to determine if this is a project you are capable of handling on your own.
