I have the same problem. I just received my check from the bank to purchase a new machine. I have been quoted 7100.00 for a BX1500 with 48"mmm and 8495 for the BX1850 with 54" mmm. When you compare the two tractors the 1500 seems like it is a better machine because it does not have all of the new plastic. The upgrades on the 1850 are nice. BTW the 1500 is a new 2005 machine. The quote for 10,000 seems ok with all of the upgrades the you are getting.
If there are other bx1500 ownere out there please respond!!! ....

My desire to go with the 1500 is size. My mowing needs almost require a zero turn. My lot has many trees but with 2 deep gullies, steep slopes next to the house, 2 ponds, and all my wife landscape projects a zero turn mower is just not going to get it done. I have an old Cub Cadet 2182 (kubota engine) with a 50" deck which works great, being but a couple inchs narrower, 4 wheel drive, ROPS, 3 pt hitch, and loader will make life easy. Mowing will still be a pain though.

The steep slopes probably makes a ZTR a bad choice in a mower for you, but with the pond and the 2 deep gullies how are you cutting those with the outfit you are looking to buy? ....

Thanks to all that replied, I was too slow and missed on the bx1500. I just ordered my bx1850 this morning.

Bx1850 and 54" MMM=$8750
Loader=$2500 with Grill Guard, and Valve.
Ballest Box=$186
Wheel Weights=$54

Got taken a bit on my trade... Cub Cadet 2182 (kubota 3 cyl. gaser) with <850 hours and a 50in deck... This cub will make someone a great mower, used it on a 4 acre lot to keep the weeds down and for the past year on my 2.5 acre lot. This old cub just embrased my neighbor's John Deeres L&G tractors... I just needed more traction, sometimes a loader and 3 point hitch.

Again thanks ....

Sorry forgot.
Getting the new seat also.
The original seat is terrible.
I almost purchased a JD2305 just because of the seat.
But i really like the engineering of the kubota better. The design just seems more thought out and exicuted. But seating operating ergonomics of the JD2305 are the best of all sub compacts that i looked at. Getting off the JD2305 is another thing, all those levers hit me in all the wrong places.
Anyway, again, thanks for your input.
