How much of a job is it to put brakes on an 86 JD 850 2wheel drive? Thanks.

It is much simpler than a car. The outer plate has the pads and all you do is remove the bolts and you can access the pads.
The problem is the price of the pads. You also need to inspect the cam and the pads for wear. Part of the problem can be the actuator cam being worn and not contacting the pads.
You can get the pads relined if the cost is prohibitive. ....
