are you happy with the price? does it seem to be a good deal to you? then buy it.. my 4115 had a list price of $15000 and something without attachments, I knew what I was willing to pay and what was acceptable, so whan I made my requests the dealer came in $500 under what I was willing to pay, I bought.
You are the person who has to live with the results. You make the decision. Be sure you get something for a warranty even if it is for 90 days and then do with it what you would normally want to do and see if it performs as you wish. No matter what, you will always want the bigger tractor. SMILE. I bought a boat a 22 footer and I went to a ships store and bought this neat sign that says it all "THE ONLY THING BETWEEN YOU AND THE QUEEN MARY IS BANKRUPTCY" You are always going to want the next tractor, there will always be a feature you wished you had. Ain't that the American Way????? ....

I understand what you are saying....but,I have no experience what so ever about tractors. I have been researching tractors on the internet and there are so many brands. My wife got her part of a farm 6 months ago and she is about to kill me! 60 acres, with small road frontage, fenceless and one side that is a half mile long to fence. I got the front done with post hole diggers. We really need atractor for the rest + will be bush hogging on hilly land. Got to buy one then learn how to use it! ....

If I was going to buy a slightly used 4200-4700 I would be looking for the manual transmission like you have found. There are a few too many bells, whistles and engineering problems with the recent HST's from Deere.

As to price.... what drives the price of a used tractor is a new tractor. Compare it to the closest new model and determine how much you are saving.

Then decide if that is enough savings to go without two years of warranty protection and other new tractor perks. ....
