i have tried all the units and really like the dealers...i probably liked the jd deere the most...but cannot justify the extra money...here is the breakdown:

2305 62"mmm = $11,100
massey 2300 60mmm = $10,250
tz25da 60"mmm = $10,450

any thoughts would be appreciated... pros and cons to each.

For me the justification of only $650.00 between the NH and Deere would be no problem. The Deere would get it, knowing that it will be worth that and more for resale while you also mentioned you preferred it over the others. I would also guess that parts will be more readily available than the MF. In my area, MF is not that popular although a number of dealers are around. A Case(CNH)[Red]version comes in a DX24 model which is almost identical from what I've heard to the New Holland [Blue]. They sometimes sell for a few bucks less. I'm not aware of the features of each but the H.P. and wheelbases are all about the same. ....

Factor that difference over the years you will have the tractor, and it is really peanuts. Go with the machine you are most comfortable with (also factor in the dealer).

The only difference between the NH TZ25DA and the Case IH DX25E comes down to two things: color and headlight orientation. The NH hood and fenders are blue vice red with the Case IH. Both are black, or a real dark grey, underneath. The headlights on the NH are vertical; they are horizontal with the Case IH. Yooperpete stated correctly that sometimes a deal can be struck with the Case IH over the NH (even though they are essentially the same thing); it happened with me. I have last year's Case IH model, the DX24E; absolutely love it -- it does all that I want and more. It just seems that I can not get enough seat time to do the things that I want to do. Once again, I am on the east coast on company travel, as was the week before and probably will be again next week; can't get any seat time on weekends when trying to have a life with my family and getting other things done. JDFANATIC states the obvious where the dealer is the key to the overall experience for the sale and especially after the sale. ....

I would recommend you get what you consider the best value. I agree the JD dealers want high dollars for used machines. This does not mean they will pay you the high dollars if you decide to sell or trade.
I have been looking for a larger machine for about 2 years. On this site we have about 4 times as many Deere for sale as NH. If I combine the numbers from the other classifieds, I have easy access to I get about the same ratio.(450-95) I doubt that there are 4X Deere sold as NH as NH is one of the top 3 sellers. Why are 4 times as many people trying to sell used Deere? Is the asking prices too high? If I am looking for a used tractor and go through the listings, it is far easier to find a green tractor which is a better deal in any size range. Supply and demand, pure and simple. That is what I have done in the past and gotten great deals on Green.
I wish I had new prices to compare with the listed used asking prices. From what I know the listed used prices are a bigger discount on the Deere.
Green will get more lookers at a tractor. I don't think it gets you a better sale price.
Buy your tractor for value (initial price, functionality and reliability)and what you like. I would not consider the fact it might be worth more in 10 years. You are certainly going to loose more in 2-3. ....

I agree with all the post above (similarities in Case and NH, looking long term, etc., and given the dollars would consider them equal, i.e., I don't see $500 plus or minus as a deciding factor when you are spending $10,000.

I assume the price you are posting is mower deck only? You might see what the differences are if you add options as well, assuming you might want to add features later down the road. ....

I AM NOT SURE WHAT YOU LIKE ABOUT THE NEW HOLLAND. I HAVE NOT SEEN THE CASE MODEL. IN MY OPINION YOU CAN'T BEAT THE DEAR 2305. IT HAS MORE POWER TO THE LOADER THAN THE ABOVE MENTIONED. I LOOKED AT THE NH AND IT LOOKED LIKE A PIECE OF JUNK. MTY WIFE ACTUALLY LAUGHED WHEN SHE SEEN I WAS EVEN GOING TO CONSIDER IT. IT IS PLAIN UGLY AND VERY INEXSPENSIVE LOOKING. THE GREEN PAINT WILL ALWAYS BRING MORE CASH ON A TRADE OR SALE. I WILL PUT MY LIFE ON THAT ONE. BUY THE ONE YOU LIKE THE BEST IS WHAT I ALWAYS SAY. YOU WILL NEVER CONVINCE ME THAT THERE IS NOT MUCH DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE TRACTORS OTHER THAN PRICE. YOU SHOULD REALLY LOOK AT THE SPECS OF EACH AND THAT WILL TELL IT ALL. BUT REMEMBER... IT'S TRUE, NOTHING RUNS LIKE A DEERE. NOTHING HAS A TRADE IN LIKE A DEERE EITHER. I HOPE THIS HELPS. DAVE ONE MORE THING, I KNOW A DEALER WHERE YOU CAN GET THE 2305 62 INCH DECK AND FRONT LOADER FOR 13,000 NO TAX JOHN DEERE DAVE ....

Gridiron, I have a NH TZ24DA with a 60"MMM, a 48" box blade, and a 6' rear blade. This is a good well built tractor. It's an excellent mowing tractor, which is my primary use.

However, I know the BX is also a good tractor and some of my friends who have JD's also have good tractors, even though you may tend to pay more for the green color.

Base your decision on your dealer, how each tractor preforms from a test drive, and what brand tractor is most prevalent in your area. If you buy green and most of the tractors in your area are orange or blue you may have delays with repairs and parts.

In spite of what JD Dave thinks, the NH, in my opinion, is one of the better looking tractors available. The new style lights not only look good but preform very well.

Good luck with your purchase, Dave ....
