I am still negotiating buying a 2000 4300 with turf tires and 72" MMM. Can I swap the rear tires, right for left to make the tractor wider and still stay under 72" of width so I can use the MMM efficiently? I would like it to be just a little wider for all the hills and slopes I might have to mow.

If they are OEM rims yes you can. You will gain about 6" in width. It will be under 64-66" wide when done.

It's 4:30 and pouring rain or I'd go measure exact for you. ....

No need to swap them. There is no direction of rotation on OEM turf tires for the JD 4300 so all you do is take one off and rotate it through the plane of travel by 180 degrees, in effect you put it on "backwards". That way you dont have to have both off at the same time and can do it with a single floor jack. To use tire chains you have to have them in the "wide" position as there is insufficient clearance between the fender and the tire. ....
