Finally took the plunge: [b]Brand-new[/b] JD 4052R with H180 loader is in equipment shed. Its always [i]fun[/i] getting new equip. Breaking it in with some new landscaping.

Apart from several issues (code / unbalanced voltage and/or load / nuisance tripping) that may arise from creating a multi-voltage branch circuit, the power to the well head is usually switched by a pressure switch (should be switching both legs if installed correctly) that is remotely located (often inside the residence). If the heater load is connected to the load side of the well head circuit the heater will only be energized when the pressure switch closes. In this scenario the solution will be less than satisfactory.

Before any of the preceding is considered, think about this. Has ANY construction, post driving, drainage work, driveway grading, trenching etc been done anywhere near the area. If not I would concentrate on looking at breakers, contacts and splices near load and service equipment. If it has I would take a close look at the work site where the construction etc was done, chances are thats where the fault is.

Couple O'points
1) It usually does not pay to be a technology adopter on the front end of the curve, the version 2.2 is ALWAYS better. So hang around until small diesel engine trucks are routinely available. Talk to the iPhone folks about this, those who waited a year got a much better deal.

2) Off road diesel is duty free but not profit free, I have frequently found the price of off-road diesel at my agric co-op to be higher than that I could buy at the Speedway, in fact I no longer bother with the red stuff.

3) The notion that the backyard mechanic can on average do a better job of supplying fuel economy to a vehicle vs the original manufacturer is bogus, the vehicle market is fiercely competitive on fuel economy and manufacturers know that is one area they will be judged heavily on. They make their vehicles as fuel efficient as possible given the other competing factors the vehicle is judged upon (like acceleration for instance).

I have a HST - my first one, I would NEVER consider buying anything else, if I needed more power I would have to buy a bigger tractor but it would still be an HST.

It's 2030, 21 years from now - are some of us / most of us driving vehicles powered by electricity - I can see it.

This kind of thinking with our reluctance to move from fossil fuel will ensure the Europeans figure it all out and we are left to purchase either their technology or Arab oil. WE have to get going on this.

You will need a pressure tank and a regulator for any impact head type (chit chit chi-it-it as you say) sprinklers on an irrigation system to work properly. Set cut in pressure on pump to be above that which a pressure regulator will deliver to the final line - that way pressure will be constant to the sprinkler heads (make sire its above their minimum required pressure) and pressure upstream from the regulator will vary between cut-in and cut-out as moderated by the pressure tank. Depending on the amount of water delivery you intend to have you may want a 20 gallon or larger pressure tank.<br>

Our system has 7 sprinkler heads operating at 55 PSI with a pump and pressure tank set at 60 and 70 psi - water delivery pressure is constant regardless of number of heads open (up to our limit of 7) and the radius of irrigation is the same for each head regardless of how many are on.

Currently about 1/3rd of the US corn crop is going into Ethanol. This has caused increased grain prices in general and has encouraged a lot of commodities speculation.<br>

As far as the US goes, if it were not for the economic slowdown at the end of 2008 and fantastic yields due to weather we were looking at a negative holdover amount for the 2007/2008 corn crop. As of the end of 2007 Iowa is now a net corn importer.<br>

"Supply and demand will dictate how much corn or any other grain will be used for ethanol." - Not so there is a govt. mandate to use X amount of corn each year to ethanol - provided in a 51c / gallon ethanol production subsidy. So far we are on track.<br>

You could add a 5 x exaggeration factor due to the "A guy I talked to" factor, another 5 x factor due to the fact its posted on the Web.

If the last California Condor roosted in your attic and you killed it would that be OK? Not saying that this is the case but States have endangered species lists because we (taxpayers) have decided to attempt to preserve the species our forefathers could not have cared less about.
