TZ dumped it's oil this weekend due to the seal on the Hydraulic filter failing. Dealer also needed to pick up another one with the same condition. Anyone else had this issue?

We've even seen the hydraulic filter broken right off tractors from moisture freezing. O-rings used on the filters we've seen often enough but often no reason was found. ....

My dealer installed a different brand/type of filter and indicated that I should not have that problem again. However, warning that this might be an issue, and suggesting keeping a spare filter and oil on hand, could save others major headaches. ....

Unrelated, but some 411 for others. Years ago when I was real young(LOL, ok just younger) I changed oil on my truck and when I started it up I had about 2 quarts of oil on the ground before I realized it. The oil filter has a rubber gasket. The filter I removed from the truck had its gasket frozen to the truck and I did not realize when I removed it. When I installed the new filter I wound up havving 2 gaskets on the truck. Did not seal (of course)
Just something for others here to keep in mid, always check to make sure the filter you remove has the gasket on it. Its real easy not to check when your laying on your back in -17 degree weather. ....

I did that same thing once and dumped 25 bucks worth of Mobil 1 on the ground. That was back when 25 bucks was a lot of money.
You only do that one once, then you learn for life. ....

Hey dsulwikowski, I'm just curious if your TZ24 is new with original NH parts or was it an after-market hydraulic filter that failed. I got my machine last November (16 hours so far) and hope I don't run into the same problem. By the way, I'm about 200 miles north of your neck of the woods and have passed through several times on the way to Fonda. Enjoyed the area every time! ....

JT - This was the original filter with the white NH sticker stll on it at 39.4 hrs. The dealers driver indicated that the other TZ was also on the original filter. If you have a little xtra jingle, I would suggest getting a new, not original brand, filter and a fill-up's worth of hydo oil just in case. You won't be wasting the money for you will need to change them both in the future. Could end up being a weekend saver! Still love my Boomer. ....
