I have used the Freedom Hitch for almost a year and I am delighted with it. Once you get the section that goes on each implement installed and adjusted correctly, switching implements is very easy. I find that I do need to adjust the length of the top link when switching to some implements, but I can do that from the tractor seat with no problem. The only time you need to get off the tractor is when attaching to a PTO implement. I wish the Freedom Hitch could be used with a Post Hole Digger, but it is not possible since the boom pole itself is just an extended top link of the three point system. I looked at the video many times before ordering. What you see in the video is the way I found it to work. ....

jack. Thanks for the info. Now you have brought another qeestion to mind. How difficult is it to take the tractor section off if you want to use a post hole digger or other implement without freedom hitch.I'm surprised the company claims that freedom hitch will work with any 3 pt. imp. ....

It is no problem to remove the tractor section. Takes maybe 15 seconds on or off. I think the Post Hole Digger is probably the only common 3 point implement that would not work with the Freedom Hitch. As I said in the previous post, I really, really like this Hitch. It has prevented untold skinned knuckles, many trips on and off the tractor to get everything in place, and a dictionary full of cuss words I probably would have uttered without it. ....

Bob, I've talked to you before and really appreciate your help a few years ago when I ordered my first tractor section and 5 or 6 implement sections, and three or four times I've talked to you since. Since then, I've ordered several more tractor sections and 7 or 8 implement for friends that wanted them, and half a dozen more implement sections for myself. Besides that, I know half a dozen people who've seen mine and ordered them, and a bunch that have emailed me after messages I've posted online about them. Some of them have subsequently purchased them, too. I should've bought stock...

I've even got most of the kinks out of a mock-up approach to getting a posthole digger to work with it (as long as you've got another top-link hole on the tractor for the end of the boom to fit in, of course).

There's no doubt in my mind that you've got an incredible product. If I had to go back to changing all the stuff I've got the old way, I think I'd get rid of at least half of it. It just wouldn't be worth having it to go to the trouble of changing it.

One set I ordered from you was for my mother-in-law (now if that doesn't prove we're on good terms, I don't know what does...). She absolutely loves it. She's pretty mechanically inclined but not into getting beat up changing equipment around, so she thinks they're great. She'd like them even better if I had let her change implements the old way awhile instead of delivering the Freedom Hitch all set up and ready to go when I delivered her new tractor to her. She doesn't really appreciate what she's missing!

Anyway, in the next month or so, I'll get around to calling you. I need several more implement sections... ....

Reginald, yes I did. I made a mock-up out of wood first just to make sure it would work. My L4310HST has 3 top-link holes, so I use the center hole for the top link connected to the Freedom Hitch tractor section, and put the digger boom in the top hole. Then I made a connector plate that allowed me to connect the top of the Freedom Hitch implement section to the top of the yoke. Because of the reduced clearance under the implement section I also had to put an extension on the PTO shaft coming out of the tractor. Then I broke the Bush Hog auger I adapted to work, got a much heavier duty Danuser unit and now I have to start all over again... At least I know it can be done. Almost the biggest advantage to doing it is that you don't have to take the tractor section off. It's still the hardest implement to attach and detach, but it's easier than it was. ....

Just recently got back from Sunbelt Expo here in Georgia and saw both the Freedom Hitch and Jiffy Hitch systems being demo. Both look similar in design with the biggest difference was the Freedom hitch used angle steel and Jiffy Hitch used channel steel. I have read the threads on the Freedom, has anyone used the Jiffy system, how has it performed? Has anyone tried building something similar on there on? ....

I went to Jiffy Hitch's web site and did not see any mention of a quick connect 3ph system. Is it a different system or just brand new?

Tom, after you get to the website, click on "product showroom" and it will take you to the hitch systems. Their brochure, that I picked up at the show says they have been making this system since 1991. Their phone number is 800-786-2829. ....

Reggie
The Freedom Hitch is undermarketed piece of equipment. Many dealers are still not aware of it, but it is a beautiful device. There is another quiktach called Delta. I never tried that one but it looked solid.
I never understood why our tractor manufactures didn't come up with these devices a long time ago. This isn't rocket science, but then again I doubt many design engineers spend any time coupling up implements at 5:30 in the morn. with cold fingers, poor lighting and a bad back. ....

I received the Freedom Hitch attachments on 11/03/2000. The quality problems that I encountered are:
1. Ref.#10(CLEVIS PIN) would not slide into Ref.#8 (LATCH BLOCK WELDMENT) of tractor attachment FH100M. Both openings of Ref.#8 had to be filed. 2. Ref.#9 (Latch handle extension) would not slide over the pin welded to Ref.#8 (LATCH BLOCK WELDMENT). The opening of Ref.#9 had to be filed, pushed and twisted down on the pin welded to Ref.#8. 3. Ref.#6 (MALE LINK PIN) opening for the Ref.#14 (COTTER HAIR PIN)was drilled on the wrong end. I gave up on Friday, could not attach the hitch to the tractor. I will inform you of the other problems that I encountered with the instructions. I suggest that you order the instructions
first, in many cases the same part is called by different names, photos are not that clear.
