I bought a Howse from Northern Tool several years ago. It works well, I did add farmers weight (several large rocks) and use it to work up the driveway.

My 2002 F-150 had the tranny light flashing and also shifted very hard at eleven months and 11,000 miles. Turned out a part went bad, was a rare problem and I had to wait two weeks for parts. They also replaced the main computer as they thought it went out also.

All was covered under warranty and now I have 44,000 miles with no problems at all.

The automotive crunch is hitting southern Michigan the hardest. I live in Central Michigan, Middle of the Mitt, near Mt. Pleasant and we have never had the kind of economy that southern Michigan has. So when you don't have it, you can't lose it!

Central Michigan is doing real well right now, very large casino, new stores and manufacturing coming in. Lot less hassle with zoning than the larger cities. Also two large universities and several community colleges close by. Some of the new technology's coming in are fuel research and ethanol production and high tech information.

Another advantage is not many unions at all left around here, almost all union shops and plants have closed. Lots of Michigan manufacturing went to the south in the 80's and 90's due to unions and the winter heating expense.

Michigan has two natural problems, it is a peninsula and it is too @#!%$#@! cold in the winter. The peninsula is why all the heavy manufacturing is in the south, just too expensive to ship raw materials in and finish goods out. Not even many railroads at all north of Lansing any more.

The cold winters are not my favorite at all, but they do keep Michigan from overcrowding and still land prices are low compared to the coasts. Minnesota and the Dakota's are colder as the great lakes do help, but four months of less than 32 degrees is still too long.

I think Michigan will do just fine. When the economy was bad in the 80's enough people went to the south that there was more opportunities for those that stayed. Seems to be happening again.

I have a King Kutter Carry All Frame from TSC that I am going to build a platform on. I may buy a large plastic box to put chainsaws and tools in which I will set on the KK Platform. They run about $115.00 at TSC.

I have used my utility trailer behind the tractor for the same thing, but then it needs to be unhitched when move brush with the tractor. The platform could stay on.

Really seems simple to me. A EMPTY trailer can't change the tongue weight at all, either high or low, it's built in with the axle placement.

Once you have a load on the trailer, simply change the height to what works best with a LOAD.

I have a 18' Mac Lander 12,000 trailer I pull with my 2002 Ford F-150 FX4. It does ride rougher when empty, little bumps aren't soaked up.

Since I have a air bag system installed, I will pump it up so the rear of the truck rides high when EMPTY to see if it is better. When LOADED I run level.

My wife won a trip for two from 2/19-24/06 for the Olympics. Luckily, she picked me to go with her!<br>

I am a motorsports type of person, but have always liked the winter Olympics as some of the sports do have a speed factor. We got to see the USA vs Russia Hockey (Russia won), Men's Snowboard Slalom (Swiss Brothers 1st & 2nd), Ladies Freestyle Ski Ariels and the Ladies Long Program Figure Skating.<br>

Italy was great, I really loved the Alps as it is flat here in Central Michigan. The weather was like a Michigan spring also, about 30 low to 50 degrees.<br>

As far as all the Bode Miller and other controversies, we didn't hear a thing about it until we got back to the USA. EuroSport and other channels covered the Olympics, but didn't have any of the comments and inside stories from US announcers like we have. TV really is the best way to watch, but nothing beats the experience of being there.<br>

Several things that happened, when we got to the hockey game there was about a dozen Russians setting from seats 1 -12 on our row. We was in 21 & 22. I tried to excuse myself past them, but the second Russian stands up and says quite loud "This Is Russsaa! <br>

My wife probably would have wanted to rumble, but I noticed that the two rows behind them were empty, so we went down them and climbed over the seats to ours. No use starting WW III when we can do a end run around!<br>

The other thing that stands out was at the Ladies Aerials the Italian announcer was really getting wound up. He talked in Italian and then in English. When a skier was ready, he would pause and say "And now, backa to the topa!!". <br>

Two Americans were setting in the row ahead of me and when he would say that one of the guys kept getting bent out of shape. He started yelling that it was making him sick or that it was ruining his life. Also that he wouldn't be able to forget it when he got home. <br>

Talk about an ugly American! He was rather ugly and had a scruffy looking hat with a American flag on the top. An Italian was setting in front of me and kept telling his wife that guy should go home. If they had started a fight I was going to beat on the stupid American for being such a dumb ass.<br>

Anyway, it was a great experience and I want to go back to Europe again. I am glad that I DID NOT get Curling tickets even though it is much harder than it looks.<br>

I bought a Bush Hog RTS62 62" Tiller from my dealer with my L3430. It has held up well, I did break two tines tilling a rocky ball diamond last fall.

It is chain drive and I did get a slip clutch installed by the dealer. Also has adjustable offset, which I have done when I moved my wheels out to full width.

I have mostly King Kutter implements, but I put the Bush Hog in with the Kubota Financing, so I went with that. I did spend about $150 more than a KK.

I buy and sell on EBay and your right after a while I can spot the fake e-mails in a flash. I foward them to EBay and PayPal if they are a new twist on the standard scam. They fake e-mails even have a different look to them like fake money!

I have seen on this and other tractor forums where people have used a subsoiler to trench wire. They are only about $125.00 at a TSC for King Kutter brand. Some have hose clamped a PVC pipe to the back to feed the wire in.

I have a KK Subsoiler and they do go down about 12" - 14" set at full depth. Do a search and you should find the posts.

I have a D-14 that I grew up with that needs restored. Spent several summers working for my Grandfather and Uncle on their dairy farm in the 70's. Ran a D-15 with AC loader haul manure. Didn't try loader for digging other than rock picking. Great tractors. Love the color!

rpelleschi, the Argi-Fab Chip/Vac is what's at TSC. I have the larger model with 8 hp Tecumseh and chipper built in. It does work well.

I have the remote vacuum hose kit also and have used that in the flower beds and around trees. Works ok, but plugs easy.

Just bought a Husqvarna Commercial Backpack Blower that really works well for moving the leaves out where I just mow them with the Chip/Vac.

It is expensive but sure saves tons of time.

I did the same type of business with Motorcycle/ATV/Snowmobile repair several years ago. I gave it a try as a side line to test it out.

What I found was people will bring JUNK wanting it done for $50.00. Also have to watch for people ordering parts and not picking up. Two out of three jobs went well and were profitable. Its that third job that hurt.

Give it a try, oneace. I would charge more than $40, maybe $55 if the dealers are $70. Be sure to check out any tractors BEFORE the customers unloads and tell them a price and if it looks real bad ask for half in advance of any work.

I am a trustee on my local township board. I decided to run as I had the interest and the time.

What I have found is that in my opinion the reason our form of government has lasted is because it is so inefficient. Nobody has the power to change much at all, even the President. This as kept would be dictators out at the price of having a huge and very bloated bureaucracy.

The biggest problem with our local board is the road commission. The state of Michigan sends their road tax money directly to them. This is just like giving a contractor a pile of money and saying what can you build for this amount? It should go to the customer which is the local boards and then out after a job has been done, not the other way around.

Iowafun is right, more diversity is needed at the local levels. The board I am on has several teachers and a nurse. I am a Tool & Die Maker and business owner. Where are all the farmers and shop people? They make up the vast majority of our population here in Central Michigan.

Our board tends to be too tight with the money at the price of efficiency. An example was it took one YEAR to get the board to approve to replace a hot water heater in the township hall! Drove me nuts! They kept saying "well, maybe we can get one cheaper here or do we need one that big or whatever". All the while the old inefficient heater was using up any perceived savings.

Nothing against public school teachers, I know I don't want the job, but school is not the real world. Business decisions are not structured and in the rule book. 1210 people live in this township and only about 20 are teachers, but they are way over represented on the board.

I think everybody on TractorPoint should run for their local township or county board. It would greatly help with having good hard working practical knowledge in government.

Just thought of one more issue - the media. I think in a few years the Internet may be our biggest hope for truth at the Federal level. The three major networks typical viewer is now over sixty. Most younger people use the Internet. Myself I check CNN, ABC, Fox, Drudge, Rush Limbaugh and Mike Moore daily to get VERY diverse viewpoints. And from there I can do google research very easily if I want to here more. Case in point is the Dan Rather scam from last year.

Does the engine start, run and sound ok? If it seems normal it should be fine. Modern oils are really good, just the traces from the mixed fuel can provide enough lubrication.

What ratio do you mix? Many oils could be ran quite lean even 100:1 or 150:1, not recommend though. I run Golden Spectro Racing Two Stroke at 50:1 in all my two strokes with premium fuel. I have never seized even one on the Golden Spectro even back when I raced Husqvarna and KTM Dirt Bikes.

I have a riding mower (AYP) with a Kohler Command 20hp. I bought it new in 1999 and use it hard. Still runs like brand new. My previous rider with a Briggs blew a rod after six years.
