I just looked at this tractor on Agco's web site several days ago. Looks like they are trying to break into the CUT market. Specs look comparable to the big three.

My Kubota L3430 with LA513 loader will and does dig very well. I can dig a hole deep enough to bury the tractor in about half hour. The dirt here in Michigan is fairly soft, except now in winter when it is frozen like steel, I can't touch that.

In Central Michigan ag and woods runs about $1300 - $1700 per acre. Was $500 per acre twenty years ago and the locals thought that was nuts!

Land may get cheaper if people have to move to where there is still jobs. Montcalm county just south of me has lost about 4000 thousand jobs and will lose 3000 more this year.

Also winter is here. Just got up to 40 today and I thought spring has arrived! Didn't even were a jacket. Two weeks ago we had three weeks of 0 to -10 every day and night. Grinder is right, cold weather keeps the population down and makes it a nice area to live.

I switched to 80w-90. It works fine. My seals did not leak at all with either. My dealer recomended the gear oil as they did have a few tractors that were weeping with UDT.

In my opinion gear oil is better for the gears. Much greater film strenth.

Hello shortmagnum,

I lurk mainly at Moto Talk, KTM Talk and Dirt Rider Net. Haven't posted much yet. I also check Racer X and Cycle News every day for the lastest news.

I have a sizable collection of bikes, most not running or junk as my wife says! I sell on EBay in the winter, going to sell bike parts if I get to them.

When I get a new bike I will go with KTM. I like all bikes and anything with a motor. Like atv's, bikes, snowmobiles, watercraft, autos and tractors of course!

I really like the tractor sites, check them everyday. I do search the general newsgroups through Google, but I don't post much.

Hello Johnmw,

I have a L3430 and the electronics have been no problem at all. It has been outside since I bought it in May, 2003.
Resetting is very easy, just hold both buttons down for three seconds.

4wd is the only way to go for bucket work. If you do any digging or work in a pit you won't get back out in 2wd.

Hello brokenarrow,

It will just ride up on hard soil. I own one and it works great if the ground is soft. I used it to culivate the garden rows with the inside two shanks removed (I took out some corn with them on)!

Maybe a KK sub soiler would work, I have one and it digs 12" to 14" deep. Only one shank, will take a while.

By the way, this is my first post to TP after lurking for the winter. Once I get started it may be hard to stop!!
