lbrown59: When using electric tankless heaters, look at BTU vs gas and the unit rate of rise. If the water enters too cold it may leave cold. We had to series 2 units to get the water hot enough. Well water tends to run a little bit colder.

Hi tnttommy,
I had a similar experience in my search for a sub-compact. The Deere dealer did the same for me and Kubota dealer brought a BX1830 with MMM and FEL out for a weekend to try. The New Holland dealer arranged to pickup a previously sold unit and show it to me at his site. I opted for the NH TZ24 because of the dealer, dealer proximity and price. I think they're all great little machines.

I have a Yanmar 1510D and I was looking at a Operator's Manual for John Deere 655, 755 and 855 models. It seems as though the engines in the 1510 and the 755 are the same.<br>
Is this true? If so, can I use this JD manual as a guide to change fluids and filters on my tractor? I am looking for filters for my tractor that I can cross reference with JD so that I can buy them at an auto parts store.<br>

Thanks for the information. I bought a Caroni 5' finish mower and it works great. I did have to cut the PTO shaft because it was too long. Other than that, I am really pleased.

I am thinking about getting a different style chain hook.... the kind with a clevis pin.... and mounting it straight to a grade 8 bolt. <br>

Then the belly of the hook would rest on the surface of the loader and it would be less likely to torque/bend the loader bucket.

I just bought a new car trailer to haul my TC 30 and various junk, err hobby cars around with. I bought a Tow Rite 18' with 2 3500lbs axles and 2 wheel brakes.
The trailer has a 16 foot flat deck with 2 foot beaver tail, treated deck and decent paint.

I just towed my tractor about 250 miles to my property in PA and it did a great job. I think in your case though I would want a bigger trailer. Both in lenght and weight rating. With a tractor and a couple of implements you can run out of both rather quickly. Even in my case a 20', 10,000lbs trailer would not have been overkill.

A common solution we use a lot for tidying them up and preventing erosion is large stones called "rip-rap", it is basically gravel that is about 6" pieces.

You clean out and grade the ditch, lay in some sort of geotextile fabric, VERY loose so it wont get ripped, then just lay the stone in starting from the bottom and wortking your way up-slope one layer deep. The rock allows lots of flow, but slows the speed of the water and stops it from scouring the ground. The fabric not only holds the earth in place, but it helps stop plant growth as well.

Check your local codes too. there are subtle differences according to where you are located.

Around here you need to have 6" of clean sand below the line and more above, that way frost or compaction (like from a heavy truck driving over it) can't force a rock into the conduit and pinch the wires.

It's also a good idea to buy a couple rolls of the yellow caution tape and lay it at the sides of the trench at a couple of different levels as you backfill the trench, then if in the future anyone ever digs near it they will hit the caution tape as a warning. If you look around it is available printed with "Caution - Buried Utilities Below" for just such use, but nearly anything works, I have even seen people use rope, just something as a reminder you're getting close.

If you have a few dollars to spare during the project, lay a length of 4" non-perforated drain pipe in the trench too, then if you ever decide to add extra 'features' like a telephone line or intercom wires,water line, etc., you can run them below ground too.

Who told you that you need a new pump? Most of the time you can rebuild or lap in your pump and save alot of money. Also have you tried to change you hyd. filter? What is your machine doing and have you ran in two different ranges?

I am considering the purchase of a 360DTC with the loader and backhoe. My other choice is the NH TC30 TLB or the TC29D TLB. Both the NH come with an 8ft. backhoe, whereas the FT has a 7.5ft. hoe. The subframe attachment doesn't leave much clearance under the tractor on the 360DTC, and on slightly uneven ground the back of the Hoe assembly and bucket get hung up on the ground. Does the NH backhoe have more clearance that the FT? The 360DTc seems like a lot more tractor - although it is not hydro - whereas the NHs are hydro. I could move up to the 330DTC which is hydro - perhaps that would be wiser. My tasks are putting in a new driveway, digging up stumps, cleaning garbage out of a ditch and burying it, digging a small pond, landscaping excavation etc. I like the power of the long tractors, just not sure about the loader and backhoe.

To all you Tractor Owners.
Never mow over the Septic Tank with your tractor or even a riding mower.

A neighbor of mine was mowing on his garden tractor and the tank caved in when he went over top of it.

His was a concrete tank.

As tanks get older they tend to deteriorate and get weaker.
This is true of both steel and concrete ones.

Do your mowing over the tank with a push mower or a weed eater.

Art; We've got Michilen "Agri-Rib" on a couple farm tractors, I'll have to check on the sidewall, but they must be what you call rhe R1-W. They have at least a one inch taller tread bar than the Firestone R-1's, but they're not a cane and rice tire. We used to have a set of cane and rice for the combine that we used in real wet falls, and about all they did was get you farther into the mud before you got stuck. We used to be exclusively Fireston till they got kinda picky on warranty. I haven't had a problem with a Michelen so far as warranty, but I know other farmers who say they are tops about taking care of thir customer. Frank.
