I took my tractor in mostly because I didn't want to deal with gallons of waste oil. As for hauling it, I had a custom aluminum flatbed trailer made. It's five feet wide and 14 long, has a single 3500 lb axle and a surge brake on the tongue. I had to go that route cuz I only have a minivan to pull with. The rig seems to work fine although I'm sure I'm a bit over the limit for my vehicle. I guess I won't try hauling it down to Florida to help clean up.

Being delivered on a Saturday I bet he was a mechanic who works on them every day.

But I yes I love the products we sell. I have nothing against green or orange I just do not know too much about them. Even though we also sell Kubota I do not get the opportunity to work with them much.

But my e-mail box is always open if any one has a question on blue tractors and I will try to answer any on orange ones.

kyvette I would also be interested in your policy I have state farm and they told me they could not insure the tractor if it was off my property. any help would be much appreciated.

Oh, the 7800 only holds 3.75 gallons of hydraulic fluid. Check your specs for the right capacity for your tractor. It also takes five quarts of engine oil. All the capacities are on the yellow sheet in your manual.

IMHO as someone who has several 'seasonal residences', cottage, farm house, hunt camp, and has too much experience at fixing frozen plumbing to admit to....

I would dig a 3' square pit about 4' deep, not too far from the back door, build a 4' square 'wee hoose' with a cresent moon cut into door on top of the pit and winterize the place each fall.

Unless you plan on spending a lot of time up there it's the safest and least expensive way to go.

Buy a couple of 5 gallon water containers and pack them along with your food when you go up there. Just don't foget to empty od pour anti-freeze into the trap in any sinks you pour the water into.

The important thing if you want to work on top of the frost is to make sure that the frost gets down as far as possible.

You have to keep the snow cleared away and let the cold get to the ground or water. If snow is allowed to remain it will insulate the ground or water and the heat of the earth will limit the frost penetration or ice build-up.

We do this to make ice roads up here across lakes, rivers and MANY hundreds of miles of swamp to reach mining camps and remote villages.

I would not recomend a dozer, they will chew through the frost and sink in. An excavator will stay on top.

Well I got some seat time this past weekend, and had to refill. I filled up with the 6 point boost heating oil, and the smoke is less and I have more pulling power.. I'll be adding some anti-gel, and more boost soon just to see if it will improve some more...

This morning it was about 30 degrees out and she fired right up and ran as normal, being cold at first the smoke was slightly blue-gray... I did not use any preheater..

I would stick with the 4 footer. Filled with any type of soil, that will be a big load for your 4110.

I live in a sandy place too.... hope you didn't get ag tires!

MY BX owners manual said that the warm-up was as much for the HST fluid as for engine. It also said that you could spend less time warming up if you used Super UDT.

Unfortunately I can't read what you said after "Oh yeah...". I'd only recommend you tackle it yourself, if you're familiar with basic automotive-type electrical circuits - and know how to interpret multimeter readings. If yes, the VERY first thing to do is track down the short that caused the fuse to blow in the first place. Only then, should you proceed to repairing/replacing the fuse box.<br>

I just paid $1058.00 + tax for a KKII TG-48 at TSC.

Quality? I tend to be of the mind set... "If it looks good it is good." Having said that the KK doesn't look good. If it wasn't for the crappy paint, my overall first impression would be much higher. I know paint is cosmetic but, to me, that poor paint represent a poor quality of overall workmanship.

Mechanical build quality looks to be at least avg./good. The only obvious things I noticed: a couple of the welds were a little hot (too much penetration) and the skid shoes are configured in such a way that you cannot use all available settings. The skids work/adj. fine... it's just poorly engineered. It'd be an easy fix to trim a bit here or there to fix the problem... but again it represent an overall lack of workmanship/engineering.

Having said that... I have absolutely no problems with build quality or strength. I'd buy another one.

The main reason(s) I got the KK are it's gear drive, weighs approx. 200+ more pounds than an equivilant chain drive tiller, and cost less than any other tiller except CCM's

Find someone else to talk to at the dealership from the shop. That valve might just have a clip out of place. Can't say we've ever had one we needed to replace, just take apart and reassemble.

Can't really help you to much for value as the success of the L-35 has been for over ten years. The cheapest one I've ever seen was in the high teens with a couple of thousand hours. The unit is a TLB unit that is dedicated loader with a removable backhoe to free up for three point hitch duties.

Peetersef; I had a set of home made ones for the bucket, but they had all the negatives the other guys mentioned. I got the regular Deere fork attachment for the 430 loader and it is a lot better deal. I use them in tight places where my regular forklift is to tall or too clumbsy to get into. Best of luck. A tractor without special attachments may not be too useful for the job. There are rakes, brush forks etc. designed for the job but it'd be a hard call to buy something for what may be a fairly small one-time job.

When I do that sort of job either for myself or on the fire crew I just drive a utility trailer as close as I can, hand rake stuff into piles and throw it in the trailer and drive it to the dump. A pitchfork is good for picking up piles of brush. Around here the Township dumps are close, there aren't any tippage fees for homeowners and no burn permits are needed. A trick for loading brush an trailers is to put down a layer of long branches first. That way the entire load slides out just by pulling on the bottom layer.

With my BX and now my 4115/46 I have ripped up roots as large as a big mans arms.... 14-15 inches, but stalled on leg size chunks.

No problem, though.... just dig farther out from the trunk. When you get a trench all the way around the tree put a chain on one of those roots and turn that sucker like the hands on a clock. Somewhere between 6 and 9 o'clock it will pop loose from the tap root and come out of the ground.
