MY BX owners manual said that the warm-up was as much for the HST fluid as for engine. It also said that you could spend less time warming up if you used Super UDT.

My RTV has the same basic transmission as the B7800. It has no screen to clean. I was told the second filter takes the place of the intake screen. On my machine, one filter is orange and the other is yellow.

LBrown: look at the maintenance schedule in your owners manual and do everything that is checked for 50 hours. You will need 2 quarts of engine oil and five gallons of fluid for the hydraulic system. The backhoe, loader and transmission all use the same sump.

The filters will be about $20 and if you use Super UDT, its about $8 a gallon.

The 50 hour service is not hard. Mostly just a big oil change.

I think it would be a lot cheaper to go all propane. That way you wouldn't need any electricity. A small propane heater for the pump house, a bigger one for the trailer and a propane refrigerator. You could probably find a good used propane refrigerator, at a reasonable price, if you shopped around.

With the size of the pond, in the winter an excavator should be able to reach the middle and start digging there. That foot of frozen soil/mud should not be a big problem once the machine starts a hole and gets under the frost to break it out from below. They may also be able to truck the soil away from the pond edge right away.

Unfortunately I can't read what you said after "Oh yeah...". I'd only recommend you tackle it yourself, if you're familiar with basic automotive-type electrical circuits - and know how to interpret multimeter readings. If yes, the VERY first thing to do is track down the short that caused the fuse to blow in the first place. Only then, should you proceed to repairing/replacing the fuse box.<br>

I just paid $1058.00 + tax for a KKII TG-48 at TSC.

Quality? I tend to be of the mind set... "If it looks good it is good." Having said that the KK doesn't look good. If it wasn't for the crappy paint, my overall first impression would be much higher. I know paint is cosmetic but, to me, that poor paint represent a poor quality of overall workmanship.

Mechanical build quality looks to be at least avg./good. The only obvious things I noticed: a couple of the welds were a little hot (too much penetration) and the skid shoes are configured in such a way that you cannot use all available settings. The skids work/adj. fine... it's just poorly engineered. It'd be an easy fix to trim a bit here or there to fix the problem... but again it represent an overall lack of workmanship/engineering.

Having said that... I have absolutely no problems with build quality or strength. I'd buy another one.

The main reason(s) I got the KK are it's gear drive, weighs approx. 200+ more pounds than an equivilant chain drive tiller, and cost less than any other tiller except CCM's

Find someone else to talk to at the dealership from the shop. That valve might just have a clip out of place. Can't say we've ever had one we needed to replace, just take apart and reassemble.

Can't really help you to much for value as the success of the L-35 has been for over ten years. The cheapest one I've ever seen was in the high teens with a couple of thousand hours. The unit is a TLB unit that is dedicated loader with a removable backhoe to free up for three point hitch duties.

Oneace, I can tell by your posts that you love your job and the product you sell. You are unique to this industry and we need more individuals with your devotion to their job. I feel I can speak for others on this board in thanking you for your expertise and the assistance you provide the NH group.

Back to the original issue. My tractor was delivered by an older gentleman who knew as much about the tractor as the salesman. After unloading the tractor he spent about 30 minutes going over the unit and answering questions. This was on a Saturday morning and he was in no rush to leave. He even made a phone call to the dealership to answer a question that he didn't know the answer. Overall I had a very pleasant purchasing experience. Dave.

Peetersef; I had a set of home made ones for the bucket, but they had all the negatives the other guys mentioned. I got the regular Deere fork attachment for the 430 loader and it is a lot better deal. I use them in tight places where my regular forklift is to tall or too clumbsy to get into. Best of luck. A tractor without special attachments may not be too useful for the job. There are rakes, brush forks etc. designed for the job but it'd be a hard call to buy something for what may be a fairly small one-time job.

When I do that sort of job either for myself or on the fire crew I just drive a utility trailer as close as I can, hand rake stuff into piles and throw it in the trailer and drive it to the dump. A pitchfork is good for picking up piles of brush. Around here the Township dumps are close, there aren't any tippage fees for homeowners and no burn permits are needed. A trick for loading brush an trailers is to put down a layer of long branches first. That way the entire load slides out just by pulling on the bottom layer.

I also had to go with a commercial Inland Marine policy through Nationwide to cover my tractor. This policy covers tractor only, no impliments. App. $200 a year for my machine.

With my BX and now my 4115/46 I have ripped up roots as large as a big mans arms.... 14-15 inches, but stalled on leg size chunks.

No problem, though.... just dig farther out from the trunk. When you get a trench all the way around the tree put a chain on one of those roots and turn that sucker like the hands on a clock. Somewhere between 6 and 9 o'clock it will pop loose from the tap root and come out of the ground.

I asked my dealer about these. He quoted me "...about $5000..." for the kit. He couldn't tell me anything about it in detail, said he would send me some info when they got it. He also confirmed that the mount was "...very similar, almost identical in design, to the BX23..."

I was mowing at the church tonight with my 855 and had the headlights on. They worked fine for about 1/2 hour then they went out. I checked the fuse and the 25amp fuse is melted in the fuse holder. It not only melted in the holder but through the holder. Any ideas on how to fix this?<br>

The forged eye hooks on the ends of my bucket have shackles and chain hooks that go on them. I had hoped to post a picture today but the laptop went a little wacky when I down-loaded the new anti-virus program.

I will post something tomorrow......
