Generally, most dealerships send out their lowest guy on the food chain to make deliveries. The best method that I've found is to make an appointment the day before it gets delivered at the dealership. Drive it around in their backlot, find out the proper fluids and where to put them and show you the zerk locations. If it is all rusted, dinged and damaged you can save them the delivery hassels and tell them to keep it.

Tractor smart lists 2 different filters that is causing some confusion here. Spin on trans filter and then a hyd/trans filter. My tractor has two hyd/trans filters on both sides of the tractor just under the seat. They look identical. The manual shows this same location. <br>

Is there a third filter for this tractor that I am not seeing? This is my first servicing of this tractor and just want to be sure I am understanding this.

The dynamite thing was kinda meant as a joke but is a labor saving method. You cannot purchase dynamite unless you are registered user, like an owner of a stone quarry. They pretty much are even then under tight control and must state each specific purchase. Do you have a quarry near you. They usually have the equipment that can dig it for you.

I wouldn't recommend driving a Cat in all that muck. You will screw it up bad and get it stuck. We have a saying up-north in our marsh area, if you get a D-6 Cat stuck the only thing that gets it out is a D-8. Our neighbor at the hunting property owns stone quarries in Northern Michigan. One late summer/early fall he cut a trail with the dozer. It sunk in and was their till a dry spell the following August when he brought the D-8 in. Said he didn't have anything bigger that he could get back there and was afraid of getting the '8 stuck.

I still think the draglink method is the best and cheapest alternative. Suggest running an ad in regional papers. They will haul them quite a distance to do a job.

Hey Woodie,

Finally received my TC35a friday. I had to laugh because all the neighbors seen it being delievered. So most of Friday and saturday I spent showing it off. I did eventually got to bush hog about an acre and it went through it with no problems.Everything seems to be working fine. Then of course it got to raining and continued throught the rest of the weekend so I did not get to do much else. But so far so good.

I will second the motion on putting to much weight on one side. This weekend I welded a hook on each side of my 210 loader. Well my 647 tiller also came in. So I was going to lift it off the trailer with the loader. It got it off fine but as I was driving towards the driveway the left rear tire came off the ground. Luckily I only had the tiller 6 inches off the ground in case that happened but what a spooky feeling. Now there will be a hook in the middle too.

The reverse drive isn't a problem if the tractor comes with every attachment that you need for the PTO operation as with checking for other customers I came up empty handed for people within companies that built attachments for them like Woods even having knowledge of the older reverse drives.

Art added another possibility and likely a more realistic one than mine. In this context, I imagine that a stressed HST means slow idle rpm and max speed pedal.

I can see cavitation happening under such conditions and I suppose there's a limit to the range of operation that engineering can provide for. Cavitation itself generates heat so maybe that's the origin of these myths, so possibly they aren't really myths. Still, few people would do serious work with any tractor at slow idle rpm's nor should they.

Some of the things I look at start out on the deck itself. I like to see a good spread on the bearings on the spindles. They can put on cast pulleys as well as having the upper bearing being within the pulley for the belt. If it is mounted above then for it to bea s close as possible. Grease fittings should be on all spindles and idlers shafts and the upper deck should be easy to open for maintence and cleaning.

If your local dealer doesn't sell the Kubota fluids, I think you can order them from tractorsmart. I would stick with Kubota fluids especially under the warranty. I once used Castrol Synthetic oil in my old B7200 and it didn't like it at all. Ever since then, I have used all Kubota fluids just for piece of mind for myself. Just my $.02

Tom is right on the money, you want a box bladt that is at least as wide as your tractors total width, it just works a lot better than one that's too narrow. Just take light cuts to your tractors traction limits and you'll do fine. Enjoy the new rig. Frank.

Be sure yuor hitch is a cat 0-1 and you should be fine. Most ag dealers have them available for under 300. You should also look for one with two doors if possible as the spread pattern will be a bit more consistant then with the one.

1stjds; Thanks for the compliment on all my toys, but in the real world they for the most part are part of the equipment for farm and field maintinence. the 48 hoe never comes off the 4310, it just seems like we use it almost daily for some small thing that if it weren't allready on a tractor you would'nt take time to mount it. We never seem to run out of field stones to dig out that we hit during spring and fall tillage, the 48 has dug out hundreds of them. Probably the most handy machine you have saw in my pictures is that old Clark forklift. I bought it quite a few years ago in an "As Is" condition, pump was shot, the ram leaked bad, etc. I'd be totaly lost without it now, for example we had a tire go flat on the rear axle of our 9610 Deere combine yesterday morning in the field. That old green hunk of cast iron lifted the rear of the combine, we blocked it up for safety and changed the tire right in the field. Back to the 48, stumps are a far greater challenge than rocks, rocks come out once they move, but stumps can have lots of roots going all over the place that can give you fits at times. #1 diesel is not the same as kerosene. I just had 150 gallons of winterized diesel delivered to prepare for the upcoming rise in prices this winter. I specifically asked for the premium grade. It was explained to me that #1 diesel is in general is a high grade fuel. Meaning higher cetane and less sulfer. For the winter they then add 40% kerosene and additives (anti-gel). The farmers and heavy equipment operators have been swearing by this dealers fuel mixture for over 20 years now. I was told that #2 fuel is very close if not the same as heating oil and offroad diesel (has the red dye added).I only run the #1 premium grade. Injector and pump repair is just not worth the differnce.

We have sold 40 to 50 of those units with out a single complaint. They are very nice tractors. But the Kubota is nice too but it is all on what you like. just wait about One month and the TZ will have a backhoe too.

There is aways that chance but I think it would be unlikely and my guess would be that it will run just fine. I would suggest having the dealer hook up an implement such as a RRM to the tractor and go run the tractor around the dealer area at full pto rpm for about a half hour or so. This will put a significant load on pretty much everything and if there are problems; they would be most likely to show up during this test run. Be sure to cycle the hydraulic on the FEL and run the 4WD too. Any leaks would most likely show up here. Be sure to take a look at the oil and coolant in the radiatior afterwards to ensure all is well too. As soon as you get the tractor home, replace ALL the fluids and filters to establish a known maintenance baseline. The 790 is a road solid and bullet proof machine that is rarely prone to problems.
