I bought a set of "Gator Mulching Blades" from my JD dealer. They are the best blades I have ever used. I looked for any product numbers for them but couldn't find any. My dealer had crossed the numbers for me when I bought them. If you can't come up with a number let me know and I will ask my dealer. I use them on a 72 inch mid mount mower and a 4210 tractor.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like I'm a bit too anxious to get a wrench on my machine. Waiting for 50 hours might take me another 2-3 months at the rate I use my machine. Would you suggest changing oil prior to Wisconsin Winter weather even if I'm not at 50 hours?

I have a 4210 John Deere and I bought a Worksaver Inc. tiller from Buchheits farm store locally. They are made in Litchfield Illinois. Their web site is www.worksaver.com The tiller cost around a thousand. The John Deere dealer wanted two thousand for the same size. This tiller does a great job.

That dont sound to me like your trying to make the custimers come back? Sound like its putting them BACK, Way back LOL.
As for Wisconsin, I called my dealer (yesterday after reading these posts) and he laughed!!! He told me to call any dealer in his area and ask if they would do a warrenty job on a tractor that was bought from his dealership. I did just that and they said SURE no problem whats wrong with ( Other dealerships name) cant they service you? LOL Now thats playing the trump/idiot card on them! Maybe its cut throat around you and maybe its because you may have one of those ebay dealers near you (I dont know) but up here where buisness is tight it seems like getting you in the door is the first step.
My dealer also said, "I better not take it somewhere else!!!" and he laughed. I told him rest assured he would get my buisness whether it was warrentee or not.
Oneace, I think you are not doing youself, your buisness, or our company one bit of good by talking about your dealerships buisness practices. Speak for your own dealership and not others. People need to do their homework before buying a tractor, and if saving a grand by going out of state or farther is what they want to do let them!!!! Dont get to be a head case with me! I am not busting your chops here, just stating a opinion, you contradicted your own words in 2 post right here. One say's other warrentee work will be last on the list and anouther post say,s you put the customer first?
I believe many dealerships from many other manufacturers have the same issues here, some are good and some are bad. Whats the turn over rate of mechanics where you work? Maybe that is why your not making money on warrentee work? Company says its a hour job and a rookie mechanic takes 2. That is a dealership problem not a New Holland problem

Well, so far I've put 45 hours on the DK65 and I'm impressed. Had one small issue; air conditioning stopped cooling. I called the dealer, who picked it up took it into the shop and checked it out. Freon level was low, he filled it to operating level checked the entire system and brought it back. Told me that it appears the factory didn't get it charged to full operating level. Great service. Works like a champ now. Glad I got the cab, it makes a major difference. I got the 7' mower and the tractor pulls it with no strain at all. Just finished mowing about 55 of 70 acres. The operating control on the back for the 3-point hitch is great; makes hooking up a breeze. And the quick attach plate on the FEL is a must. Dropping the bucket and attaching the hay forks is a snap.

So far I like it a bunch. I'll let you know how it continues.

4 x 55w lights will, I think, quickly over power the OEM charging system (on a BX). That's why I used the 2 x 35w incandecant lights. No, they're not as bright, but, like I said you dont need that much light on a small tractor. In my case, they make plenty enough light to snowblow in at night. (Short days and long nights in Wisconsin during the winter)

The only issue I have with my machine is that the quarter-inching valve often sticks in a slow-drift-lower position- there's no positive detent at neutral. This can lead to moving more dirt than desired with a box blade, as it slowly drifts down unnoticed. That should be an easy fix with a little TLC. I'd also like it a lot if the parking brake would release with any application of forward or backward drive, but that's an operator-error issue. <br>

Ditto what kubotaguy said. I have 10 hours on mine, and just upgraded to the B2910's telescoping 3-pt stabilizers as suggested elsewhere on the site by beagle. Those represent a great improvement over the 7800's turnbuckle check-chain arrangement for quick implement changes.<br>

I also have the 2910 headlight cluster to install, but have not done so yet, as the stub wiring harness at the back of the assembly will need to change as well and I didn't order it. This takes the headlight from the stock 18W taillight lamp to a 23W bayonet-base lamp, and provides a wider beam spread (from what I've seen in trying them on the B2910 at a dealer). I intend to try upgrading the lamps to 35W halogens (they use a standard taillight-style bayonet base) for winter plowing. They are wired with 16AWG and fused at 10A, so the ~6A draw of the halogens seems to be a reasonable thing to try.<br>

Otherwise, my machine has done everything I've asked of it, and much more than I expected.

I think it will come down to what you get use to.....both manufacturers make good machines. I owned a 4300 about 2 years ago with a FEL and BH. I was very impressed with what the machine could do and had no problems with it. I am also in the process of building and will be buying another tractor. You may want to do what I just did. I was thinking of going kubota this time, and rented one for the weekend to do work around the property. After spending two days with it, I will be staying green....I think the Deere's are much more well thought out. The hydro pedal system is more comforable, and the turning brakes are where they should be. The loader lever is also more comfortable than the kubota. The kubota did not seem to be as rugged as my deere was IMO. It all may just be what I am use to......bottomline, try them out and see which one you like. either way you go, it will get the job done. (BTW - the machine I rented was a L3710 w/hydro and FEL) I will be going back to the Deere dealer :-)

Lg tractors are now being sold in the U.S. under the LG brand name. They have been available in the U.S. under the name of Long, Farm Trac, and a few TAFE models but not all of the TAFE are LG made.

I know LG is a liscensee to New Holland but don't know the exact nature of the relationship.

The LG is the LG Montana line and has the following models available in the U.S. the LG2740, LG3040, LG3240, LG3440HST, LG3840, LG3940HST, LG4340, LG4940 and LG5740. All listed are 4x4 but they do have 2WD in many of these models. The first 2 numbers of the model are the engine hp and the 40 indicates the 4x4.

Most are 4 cyl. Mitsu engines but some have the 3 cyl. Daedong engines.

LG is a large company that most people know for electronics, telecom, plasma TV, appliances etc... They are in fact almost a 100 billion a year company. These tractors come from their ag division. It is a high end machine.

I'm going to be using a front blade for snow plowing with my 650 tractor. How do I add weight the the rear of my tractor to compensate for the added weight of the front blade?

As I recall, the oil filter was part of the pan plug. The plug looks like a cylinder with a screen in the middle and magnet on the end. I'd hose it down with carb cleaner and dry it. Oil was 10w-30 kubota brand from the local dealer.

If Ralph Nader (a lawyer himself, by the way) could have afforded a turbocharged Corvair Monza Spyder back then, I wonder if that book would ever have been written. It was about the closest thing to a Porsche that Detroit had come up with at that point in our automotive history.

Lawyers though, are the closest thing we have to perpetual motion at this point in our legal history. Federal and state legislative bodies are composed primarily of lawyers, who create and implement rules/regulations/laws that can be only understood by MORE lawyers. They grow like weeds, and produce their own fertilizer.

Current statistics indicate there is one lawyer for every six people in America. That ratio may not even include illegals, another "cause" that keeps many lawyers busy; finding (and/or creating) reasons why they shouldn't have to go home.
