Casco1, I'm not very familiar with Kubota hoe's but my John Deere hoe does the same thing if you don't pin it first.

My FZ2400 hydrostatic transmission acts "sticky" - I have to usually tap the reverse pedal, or the zero turn pedal to get it into neutral. The linkage itself is free though, it seems to be internal. Any hints on what the problem could be, potential cost to repair, etc.?<br>

Kodiak Tractors::Thanks for the info ,boy I have down hours of researh on this brand and have had a couple e-mails and I have found 2 places to get parts for this tractor,somewhat easing a possible buy.It also has a backhoe that the owner says was bought at "ace'did not say equipment,or ace hardware.Around here tractors seem to be really rare and premium priced.Thanks for the e-mail Scott

Oneace: My take on your comments is nothing like the above. But, opinions that cost nothing in the giving may hold little value, and mine is just another opinion.

More opinion, and just remember that it's cheap: You are the only person who knows what the problems are and what helps. Sounds to me like you are coming to grips with them and figuring out what works. You are the only person who can and there's nothing wrong with accepting some assistance doing it.

Each of us is a one-of-a-kind in that there's never been another person exactly the same. That does mean that nobody (absolutely nobody) is capable of judging another person. It also means that nobody else can be responsible for anther's life. We all bear that responsibility for ourselves and nobody else can or should try. Doesn't mean it's easy, and some us carry more baggage than others. Just hang in there and remember that you do contribute to the content of this board.

1*I purchased my first tractor a new 1966 Bolens with a 48" front blade 38 "mmm and rear mount tiller.
Over the years I have mowed acres and acres of grass and moved ton after ton of dirt gravel slag and snow with the Bolens and those implements.
The Bolens is 2 wheel drive and the front blade is manually raised and lowered by hand with a lift lever.

My reasoning is thus.
Since I was able to remove snow with the Bolens without the aid of a snowblower on it why would I need a snowblower for a bx23 4X4 to remove snow?

Again sounds right to me. Hour on these machines play a very small role in there resale value. It is the condition of the unit in question, and whether the maintenance was up on it. 175 hours is just a drop in the bucket compared to how many hours are on it where it is retired, probably long after you do. I have seen some tc40 and 45 with well over 2000 hours on them and still run like a top.

Just for some reassurance and endorsement of those encouraging you to use a blower (front or rear), I'd second that! I have a MF similar to the BX with a front-mount blower and it did great last winter! I have a ~350 native surface/gravel drive with some slope to it and the blower was just the ticket. Oh sure, you'll take a facefull of snow once in a while, but rest assured I would guess your BX will do just fine. I have turfs (not loaded), bought a pair of chains just in case, but haven't had to use 'em yet. Good luck to you.

I would imagine that a tricycler kit is probably your best option. At least you could chop up most of the nut debry. I mow yards with hickory trees and those damn nut shells are a pain in the butt! I have to wear safety glasses to mow because the shells can be like bullets. You might be able to install a bagging kit on your mower and install the Deere high lift blades and this might suck up enough of the nuts and shells to get the bulk of it.

The primary design use for the compression release is to aid starting under very cold conditions by allowing the engine to easily spin up to the max. rpm possible by the starter and then snapping it shut when reaching that rpm to attempt the start. It has a secondary use as means for emergency shut down of the engine if the ignition switch fails to perform this function or in the event of a run away.

Been reading along with all the posts, real interesting!
Since cherymax did not ask if anyone here was an attorney and could answer his question (in which case he would of got no response) I guess it is like all other answers here, it may or maynot apply to your situation.
My visual of this easment is not clear. What type of setting is this in? Is it rural and mostly woods and fields or is it in a subdivision and just a lot and house in back of yours? That would make a huge difference in how well maintained this could be expected to be. Also, how long is this drive? Like a few have said before, a few loads of gravel may go along way to solving the issue.
Have you ever considered erecting a storage building or anouther garage near the end of this? Maybe it could be a dual use drive and then would be in your benifit to maintain it for yourself as well as the "idiot neighbor"
I feel for you though. Many times fighting the laws are just not worth the headaches they bring. What you really need is a change in the winter months in Ga. Nothing like a few months of winter and 2-4 feet of snow to make a guy keep his drive atleast in half way good shape.

Up der in northern Minnesota where I used to live, ATVs were used quite a bit to move snow. But then, we all worked for a manufacturer. My Sportsman 500 did a nice job pushing a 5 ft blade. But you had to be ready to turn and shove the snow pile off to the side. Wet snow especially as the weight of the snow would overcome the weight of the ATV. You make many short passes. In dry snow, you can plow like you were in a regular county snowplow (blade angled). But the wet stuff is real trouble.

I use a utility tractor now. It's nicer since where I'm at in Iowa, I often get bad drifts between the garage and shop. ATV wouldn't be able to handle the 3-5 ft drifts I get. The tractor with loader and blade works better for me. Plus I use it to mow 3 acres in summer. Loader works great for moving stuff like dirt for the wife's flower beds. Or for clearing the garden, etc.

I've used a RFM only a couple of times. There are others here who will do a better job of speaking to that. I got my 4310 with 72" mmm a few weeks ago. I also noticed ground clearance problems. But no worse than my JD325 with 54" deck. I needed to move gravel to address 2 years of snow removal and I pulled the deck to give me the clearance I needed. It took me about 30 minutes. Now that I know what I'm doing, I could remove the deck in probably 10 to 15 minutes. This doesn't bother me since my primary use is mowing. The wheels on the deck have prevented any major issues with clearance.
