The answer is .... it depends.

The Georgia law was just quoted and it clearly states that the easment must be maintained. However, that doesn't mean that the user can be required to pave it and put in street lights. The user is normally required to maintain the easement in such a condition as to not adversely affect the surrounding property.

However, consider an easement which is used once a month for a farmer to get back to his property to mow. The rest of the month he's in the next county. Can you as the landowner require him to mow the easement so as to make it conform to your standards of lawn care? Probably not. If in a month it is so overgrown that it is filled with noxious weeds and pests, then you could perhaps get something done. However, the most likely "something" is to mow it yourself.

It's tough to answer specifics in this venue as the nature of the terrain can significantly impact the problems the landowner is confronting and the solutions available. Again, we're talking the general rule and generally it doesn't apply.

I sent for a copy of the owner's & part's manuals for a Rhino Box Blade I have at home, just because I'm kinda funny that way, I have manuals for everything except the wife, and I'm not sure I could figure that one out, even WITH a manual. Presuming someone could even WRITE one.<br>

I got an envelope in the mail from Servis-Rhino, a big THICK envelope.<br>

I sat down to pour over both and was amazed at what I saw, or didn't see more particularly. <br>

The 39 page Operator's Manual breaks down as follows;<br>

Two pages of Assembly information.<br>
<br>
One page of actual 'how to' operation information.<br>
<br>
One page of maintenance information.<br>
<br>
THIRTY FIVE pages of Safety Warnings and Bureaucracy!!!!<br>

It does though end with these final words, a thoughtful bit of advice, "Please work, drive, play and live each day with care and concern for your safety and that of your family and fellow citizens.".<br>

Somewhat hesitantly I picked up the Parts Manual. It was 24 pages long. 14 of them were diagrams and parts listings, 4 sets of 3 almost identical pictures covering differing widths of box blades, and 2 pages of the hydraulic cylinder that moves the scarifiers for you.<br>

And darned if it doesn't end with those same sweet words of wisdom. <br>
<br>
Those lawyers are such a caring, loving bunch of people. 63 pages of 'information' and 45 of them are self-serving 'please don't sue me' contributions from the lawyers.<br>

Another post earlier this week was with someone breaking belts on a Landpride mower. My suggestion was to go to a different belt cord which is Kevlar. Belts are blue. I had trouble with cords breaking from the bending stresses. You can take the existing belt to a local Belt Supplier and get the correct size and length. In addition to different cord styles other belt compositions are available. Some belts are too stiff.

How are the belts breaking? (ie.Are the sides getting chewed up, backs breaking)

Your tractor only needs 10-15hp to run the hydro pump at the rated volume up to the relief pressure. Therefore, running the engine slower is a desirable thing (noise, stench, engine wear).

I am also new to this board, having joined in June. As you read the posts you will soon learn who has good information and who is full of bull. Also, check out the other boards, just because you have one brand of tractor doesn't mean you won't find valuable information on the other tractor boards.

Sorry you had the bad experience.

Recall that I posted the pin diameter as 0.995". The Woods machine probably has 1.00" pins. I have no Woods buckets, but I have had several of all sizes of the Prairie Dog Buckets and they are all well made. I never use my little 8-incher, however.

I am sure that your local dealer will honor the warranty and take the bucket back. Too bad he did not have any units you could see before buying.

Scooter: I couldn't agree with you more. It's all about the local dealer and you relationship with them. Which in my case, was the main reason why I bought Kubota.

I don't have any Great Bend equipment, but from what I have heard, stay away from it. Several people have complained of serious quality issues.

I wouldn't recommend a 3-point backhoe without a subframe. You can do some serious damage to the tractor and void your warranty. For a 20 year old tractor out of warranty, a lot of things are possible. For a new tractor under warranty, stay with the Kubota implements for FEL and BH. You know they are engineered and performance mathched.

As I understand it the Jinma factory provides a warranty covering replacement of defective parts for 12 months from the time the tractor leaves the factory. Many sellers use 6 months to avoid having different warranty lengths remaining on each tractor depending on when it arrived, how long before it was assembled and how long did it sit at the distributor and/or dealers lot. Farm Pro has 6 months parts and labor subject to a $100 deductible on non powertrain issues, and not including wear parts, bulbs belts etc. At our dealership, we have never had to collect the deductible.

Our KAMA brand offers 12 months parts and labor if sold local to our warehouse in Arkansas, otherwise it is for parts only.

Extended warrantys are available that will allow parts and labor after 6 months for up to 5 years on most new tractors.

I have seen many gray market tractors without warranty or with only 30 days. In fact it was on some gray market tractors that I saw engine only warranty, but I have not heard of any engine only warrantys on chinese tractors, but since each importer makes his own policy, I don't doubt its true.

I got my 4310 through Colfax Tractor as they are only 6 miles from the house. It's part of the Vanwall group. I haven't come across anyone with anything good to say about Vanwall. I tried them anyway. The sales guy was very nice and I felt bad for him. The problems were not his fault. He did cut me a great deal on the box blade to make up for the delays.

The 550 Oliver. I'd like to get $4500 but I'm realistic and I'd let it go for $3500. It would save me the effort of listing it on Ebay. It's not perfect by any stretch but does have a Superior loader on it. The PTO was fixed using new parts (PTO clutch was broken when I bought it) with the work done by a local who fixes tractors for a living.

I'm liking Murfs theory. My guess is that it would have leaked from the first hour if assembly problems were to blame. If it didn't start leaking until the 15-20 hour mark maybe something was damaged. It's all conjecture of course and I know not what I'm saying. Hopefully DennoAce will report back on how his dealer handles it and what they find wrong.

TSC also has small utility trailers with a dump feature that would be pretty versatile. They are asking around $325 for them. They have high speed axles and hubs for over highway use also.

A YM2000 is too small to move round bales. It is big enough to utilize a loader with extra weight on the rear. I use a 33hp 4wd Yanmar with loader to move round bales. When they weigh 1100-1200 lb the tractor front gets light. The size of your tractor is going to have to be determined by the size of round bale you are moving. Stay away from the "new, reconditioned". I get a lot of bad parts calls on them. Follow hardwood's advice about dealers. A reputable local dealer should be able to help you pick the right size tractor for your needs. He has to live by you. An Ebay seller doesn't have that incentive to make sure you buy the right tractor.

I've been pretty successful digging out just about any stump I wanted to with the backhoe on my 4400. The key is patience. I was able to dig out a 24" maple stump from my backyard. However, when I was finished it looked like a bomb had gone off and it took both the tractor and my truck to get it up our of the hole. I only attempted it for practice with the backhoe. It was definitely not the most efficient removal method. For smaller stumps it works well to use a narrow bucket on the backhoe to dig through the roots on each side then reach underneath and curl the bucket to break the stump loose. As a couple of the posts above related, be careful using the 3 point hitch. It's far to easy to turn the tractor over on yourself. I definetly wouldn't try that method with a gear model. With an HST you can let off the pedal to stop pulling, but with a gear tractor, if you foot slips of the clutch it's all over.

A simple way to check to see if your problem is before or after your pump is Loosen pressure line from pump & crank engine with fuel off. If it pumps some oil your problem may be dirt holding the reief valve open. If it doesn't pump oil , it is a pump or suction problem.

I just bought a new Kubota bx 23 tuesday with 60 " mower and front grill guard for hundreds less than the 15900 to 16400 quotes I got from about 10 other dealers in ohio and W.Va.
I used Kubotas 0% financing which is an unbeatable deal as it allowed me to buy new for hundreds to thousands less than the cost to buy used.
To me if it ain't a Kubota it's not a tractor.

I have a 2004 Dodge 2500 4x4 w/hemi, it does have alot of power compared to other trucks, more horses than the other brands, pulls nicely, and runs like a cat with its tail on fire when needed, but man does it drink the gas!!! They aint kidding about the two plugs burning fuel better, thats the thing they do best!
