That is not likely to be a stocked item at many if any Deere dealers. Rick should be able to get you the cylinder in a week or more probably less.

As you can see there are lots of ways to do the job. Many of us use MacGyver techniques depending on what is laying around. If you combine what most of us have said in part, the following would be a good guide: Round-up like Hardwood has said would be the first step. If you run the tiller through one time and loosen the soil, your next step could be the box scraper to fill in the low spots. Till it a second time in an opposite direction. Drag chainlink fence, timbers, pallets or whatever to smooth it out more. Broadcast in fertilizer and any other soil treatment and till it again. Drag it again and broadcast the seed. I always put down lots more seed than normal to get a real full lawn right from the start. One final light drag(with less weight) will work in the seed. Water is important. If this is done in the fall, maybe rain is enough but a little intervention can't hurt.

New weeds will germinate from disturbing the soil. Let the grass grow to a nice height and full thickness before putting on weed killers or mowing. The weeds quite often look disturbing the first year or until they are under control. Next year fewer weeds will germinate if your lawn is thick and kept slightly long.

As tractor123 mentioned, if you can get the computer to boot into Safe Mode; I would suggest clicking on Start, then click Run. Type msconfig in the text box, then click OK. When the System Configuration Utility box comes up, click on the start up tab, and then uncheck all the boxes except for system tray and scan registry. Click apply and then OK. When the box asking to reboot click yes. The system should reboot and boot up normal. You may have too much "stuff" selected to boot up on start up and it is overwhelming the system and memory.

I have a SD 2803 T and mine does not have a transmission filter. There is a screen that can be cleaned (I think). A good resource for you is Buck at www.efcconstruction.com. He is very knowledgeable and has a great website. Check him out--Jesse

If what the others have mentioned doesn't solve the problem consider if the belt is running through sharp bends. I have a belt driven rear tiller on one of my lawn tractors that was eating up belts because of the sharp bends. The cords were breaking! I ended up using a belt with Kevlar cords that solved the problem. These belts are blue in color and are only about another $5.00 more than standard. Also make sure you are using the correct cross-section size.

I have 12 acres with about 2 to mow around the house. I still use my 42" 21HP Craftsman 'finish mower' ;) for that but I got an L3130 for bushhogging, scraping, etc. for the rest. It is an AMAZING machine. My lot has some very hilly spots, and by sticking with the recommended up-and-down vs. across strategy of working hills, it is wonderful. Plenty of power, lots of implement flexibility, etc. etc. I didn't look hard at JD but looked closely at NH and FarmTrac. The HST on my L3130 is fabulous.

Enough blubbering - count this as one vote Kubota and one vote L3130 ;)

The first tractor I drove when I started looking to buy was a Deere 790 with 9 forward and 3 reverse (If I remember right). The lack of shuttle was enough to convince me that its nearly a neccesity for what Im doing with it (loader & grading). If youve ever driven a non shuttle tractor and tried to do loader work with it, youll know the for/rev shuttles on geared trannys have brought them much closer to the HST in ease of operation.
I'll say right off the bat, I think whether you prefer a FST, GST, or HST type of tranny is just that, a preference. I got a GST for a couple of reasons.
1) Being that I got a 32 HP tractor that weighs 3200lbs (- loader & BH), I figured I could use all the HP Ive got.
2) Ive driven manual tranny vehicles for over 23 years so im not intimidated by the clutch at all. The FST and GST seemed much more natural to me than the HST. Im glad Kubota offers the GST option because if they didnt, I dont know what I would have picked. The FST actually feels better to me so I probably would have gotten that. Habit has forced me to use the clutch more than not anyway. The true saving grace of the GST has turned out to be its lack of ranges. 1 through 12, real slow to real fast, no stopping, no clutching and back down, 12 to 1. I dont go through all of the gears like that very often (hardly ever) but I do use 2 through 8 alot. I realize you can probably work an HST all day and not get out of mid range so its a little bigger advantage over an FST.

Does anyone know for sure if the 2210's diesel engine ships with break-in oil or not? The manual for the 2210 makes no mention of it and if one searches jdparts.deere.com using the 'search for model numbers that use the part number' for the break-in oil, the 2210 is not listed.<br>

If it has a loader, tap into the loader's PB line, but the splitter valve should be PB rated. If no loader is present, run lines from the aux ports on a hydraulic manifold block (assuming it has one). That would be a PB application. If the splitter valve isn't PB rated, the return line can run into a port on the cases, but a diverter valve on the block would have to be switched between 3ph and splitter use. There are positive locking quick-connectors that are more secure than regular quick-connectors for use on PB lines.

Whoa, oneace, relax, don't get so wouund up. I have no doubt that if Grinder is as good a guy as you say he would probably let me know if I misunderstood him. Maybe you should let him respond for himself. But as a new poster here I don't know the history of everyone and it is hard to figure most people out when you can't look them in the eye. Hey all, just got back from the sales meeting in Ohio with Ventrac and you are right this company just keeps getting better all the time. New attachments were seen and tested and wow all looks real good. Got the chance to run a sickle bar mower that fits the 4000, 4100,and the 4200 and man is it nice. I also saw a 15kw generator that will be coming soon. A new machine called a 2400 that is 2 wheel drive that is being tested and a new rear discharge deck with alot of cool options. Ran alot of new stuff and used every attachment that they make and some they would like to. Also ran new Bannerman products that fit very well with the Ventracs. All interested should call your local dealer and ask what else is new. Now is the time to buy with different ways to purchase or lease your new Ventrac and the new minute attach or less attachments. To the fellow that asked where I am located I am in Churchville Maryland and also Street Maryland just south of the PA line.

Beagle: did you get the seat from a local dealer, or an online source? I've tried several online sources, and have been quoted $325-350 for the seat. Much as I'd like to have the armrests, that's a tad rich for my blood...

The headlights and the telescoping stabilizers are on their way here even as we speak, though. Thanks to all for the great upgrade ideas!
