I have to run a snow blower on top of a ditch during the winter so it doesn't fill up with ice and block the spring run off. There still usually is some ax work to do.

Any closed drainage system that's above front is going to freeze and then a steam machine is needed. I improved the house's back-grading, re-graded the drive so more of the yard drained down the drive and repositioned the eaves-trough down-spouts and haven't had water since then. Before that a sump that pumps to a dry-well prevented standing water in the basement.

Weepers to a dry-well might work but one might not perc enough for significant problems since problems often happen when the ground is saturated everywhere. Continuing an overflow line from a dry well to air might not be too long a run if the slope is decent.

2000 F250 ExtCab, Long Box, 4x4, turbo diesel w/auto at 119k miles and still going strong. Original brakes. Had orginal tires until I cut a sidewall on something at 93k miles. I love the truck. Puts up with the cold well, good mileage, plenty of power.

I believe my starter has a little more ommph since I cleaned the connections at the solenoid, and don't forget to clean the ground terminal at the chassis connection. It the ground connects to the battery box like on my 1710, the connections between the box and chassis also should be inspected or an ohm reading taken. I've even heard of somebody moving the ground connection from the box to a starter mounting bolt but I don't know if that's advisable.

If you aren't sure of the condition of oil, filter and any screens I'd change them.

I've heard of some pumps with built-in proportioning valves but the 3ph and loader won't operate simultaneously in a typical open centered system. However, if the loader valve is a single return type the loader exhaust oil will move the 3ph, but the system carries the combined weight.

I am starting to agree with you on the 4 wheel drive. After looking at both, I can see the advantage of the 4 wheel drive. A live PTO would be a big advantage with the finish mower. I have been quoted for the TC-30 4 wheel drive, with a 6 foot finish mower, a 5 foot brush hog, and a tandem axel, 16 foot, 6000# capacity trailer for $14,900.

On my BX1500 I got the 54" deck and it works excellant along with the FEL. I've done several hours of digging out a drainage ditch with no problems at all. As for the interferance question, due to the ease of taking off the FEL and MMM I just take off wich one I'm not using at the time, I can change either one in less than two minutes. If they made it any easier I'm afraid my wife would start doing all the outside work and I wouldn't get to enjoy my tracter.

You will find Deere prices on Implements are usually high.
I try not to buy Frontier or Deere because of that. In my opinion I have found equal or better for less through some of the advertisers here...

If you don't want to kill the snake, take a stiff tine garden rake and, from behind the snake, press the tines down over the body just behind the head (between the tines of course). It's alot more comfortable approaching when they are thus immobilized. Now you simply place a gunny sack over the tail and scoop it up in one fell motion as you lift the rake. Now you can haul the bagged critter so far away it'll forget where that nice rock was, and find another.

How old is the tractor? If it is relatively new it may be a warranty issue.

Don't overlook the simple things first. Make sure all the wheel bolts are properly torqued and that the wheels are properly seated. May be a long shot, but worth a try.

grasgod, take a look at the Worksaver site, they have several options for hydraulic post hole augers and drivers, that are both 3-point and FEL mounted. Some are compatable with standard quick attach systems, or mount to the FEL bucket.

The Worksaver model 300 fits cat 0/1 subcompacts, has 30" augers in 6", 9", and 12". There is a Downforce kit available for their 3-point augers, but you will need rear hydraulic remotes for this. You probably don't need a Downforce kit unless you have some very hard clay. In that case, the torque on the 3-point will begin to be the limiting issue. The 714H is a fully reversable hydraulic auger that bolts to the loader bucket. It requires 5-10gpm to run the motor, which is in the range of compacts.

No, I don't have stock in Worksaver, just picked up a lot of information on their products when I was shopping for my auger. They have some nice stuff.

Art, retail pricing for the three units as I was told with IND tires, 3130 DT $15,886, 3430 DT, $17086 and the 3830 DT $18,386.00. If this is the case everything else being the same will I see the difference in performance to spend the extra money. There has been numerous post on the 3130 and most everyone has been very satified with the ability of this unit. The one thing that I don't want to do is sell myself short. This will be the first tractor that I will own that will be a 4 wheel drive with a loader.

I was thinking Iseki was the maker of the later compact Masseys. I'd never heard of Toyosho until I say that in the book today.

The plans and material lists were adequate. I ended up using the MetKit metal kit because the holes were pre-drilled. The plans don't include any specific instructions, just general hints, pictures and drawings. You have to improvise as you go.

But I'm just tickled with the end product. I've got a lot of use out of it.

Very cool Plots, That will be one of my projects here in my horse coral(pasture) so I dont have to keep running 150' of garden hose out there to fill the troff for drinking. I might attempt to put a liner in it to conserve on water but i'm afraid they'll put there huff's threw it.

I was just reading some 'typical buyer profile' info. from one of those market research companies.

It seems not all 1/2 ton buyers are stupid suburbanite posers after all. In fact it seems that farmers & working men all over North America were right all along, a pickup is your best buy.

Dollar for dollar a 1/2 ton pick-me-up truck is a far value for less money than a mini-van (read "Tragic Wagon") and has a FAR higher resale value.

I was kidding a neighbour of mine who just bought a GM-by-the-C pickup about his suburban-cruiser. He claims it has all the same equipment (toys) and 3 times the workability as the Minivan his wife wanted, but was $2,500 less money. The fact that it was RWD instead of FWD just clinched the deal for him.
