Danny,<br>Hope I'm not talking out of context here, or missing your problem...Even our 4100 hydro sometimes requires me to apply a little pressure to the Range selector lever when shifting into low range, while lightly pressing the forward pedel. Same thing with my 5 speed car while shifting into reverse. Sometimes have to slowly/lightly release the clutch with a little pressure on the shifter, and it falls right into gear. I find the same effect disengaging the 4wd on the 4100, although I've found putting pressure on the 4wd lever while slowly pressing the

Try Carver Equipment, they advertise on this site. I priced out a machine from them and thought they were very fair, honest and knew what they were talking about. I ended up buying used, because I found a great deal. However if I bought new or they had a used machine that met my needs, I would have bought it from them.

I agree with the previous post about the sickle weight. they will work fine on your machine. most sickles only weigh about 550-650 lbs.I use a 7 ft. sickle behind my JD 870 to mow my hay. no problems with it. just don't get in a hurry and start going to fast. the sickle will start to skip over the grass. be sure to keep the knife sharp for the best results and try to cover or store the implement inside when not in use.

Yea Dave, I heard the same thing about not changing your hydro fluid at 50 hrs on the Kubota board. Many Kubota and Deere service managers don't reccommend a 50 hrs. hydro change. But those are the guys that have never cleaned a plugged pick-up screen at 50 hrs or looked at all the metal shavings in the fluid or sliced open the filter and looked at the insides in sunlight. I have done all those things and believe me 50 hrs. service is a good choice--- Just like the manuel says.

I just bought a new JD 790 with a 5' rotary mower and a 6' scraper blade. I didn't want to spring for the loader now (the dealer was asking over $3,000) but will be looking for one soon. Any good leads on where to order discount JD loaders?

All Deere dealers in my area want 14,450 to 14,990 for a new 4wd 790 w/R1 tires and JD 70 loader, plus tax. I found a nice '98 60 hr 770 with 4wd, loader, 513 cutter, ballast in the rear tires plus a JD utility cart serviced and ready to go for thousands less and no tax. Buying a low hour machine from a private party is the way to go if you can.

Steve, <br>I don't know if it's too late for any of the tractors you listed above. I am interested in either a L3010HST, a L3410HST,or a L4310HST in 4wd, R4 tires. Remote hydraulics would be nice, but not essential. I don't know much about this line of tractors. About what would freight cost from you to me in Carbondale, IL 62901? I am looking for a john deere 6410L. Low Profile with orchard pkg. Mechanical F.W.D. 18.4x26 rear tires. 9.5x16 front tires. 12/4 synchro plus transmisson. Single Hydrolic valve. Underslung muffler. Good quality three point implements don't seem to ever wear out. A used one is just as useful as a new one - though it may leak oil! For some reason the used attachments don't hold their value as well as the tractors themselves and are often real good buys. Roger

you can't get a loader for a 212 or a 3 point hitch but you can get a integral hitch that the closes to a 3 point

<br>I have the the Woods model BH9000 that would fit your machine (JD5410, 65PTO_HP, 81Net_HP). Paid about $8500 with a PTO hydraulics and subframe mount. You should not need the PTO Hydraulics for fast operation (I have a L4310HST with only 8GPM). Total time to attach is about 5min including removing the 3PH hydraulic lift/tilt arms. Great machine for occasional Backhoe work. I use mine for light construction trenching, cleaning ditches and digging ponds. Obviously this does not dig as fast as a full size Case backhoe. FYI// A bucket is included in the price so get the big bucket with the hoe so you can save some $$ if you buy some smaller buckets separately. I have that particular blade. Overall it is a very good blade. I have had no problems with it. It is heavy and rugged enough to do job well.<br>However, I would change a couple of things. The first is a minor annoyance, but when changing the angle it can be difficult to get the pin through the main pivot body into the blade plate. If I were to redesign it I would ream the hole larger and weld in a pipe for the pin to ride in. The pin would then always be straight. The second thing is that the blade pivot plate needs to be larger and have more holes. This is a problem when grading along a foundation or wall, because when you offset the blade you can't angle into the wall. You can pull away from the wall or have the blade perpendicular to the wall, but you can't angle into it. This problem will probably be an issue this winter when I want to

As a landscaper who uses 6 Kubota's (as well as a fleet of trucks and bigger equip.) for snow removal, I will let you in on a little secret. A blade in place of the loader bucket will move snow many times faster than a regular front-mount blade can. The reason is the loader mount is in the middle of the tractor, so weight is distributed front to rear, and also, the weight is standing on the front axle. Besides the reach of the loader is unbeatable for detailing and stacking. If you want extra traction, put an old 3pth fertilizer spreader full of sand on the back. Best of luck.

RCH,<br>I have one of the original Optimas in my '90 Acura. Cost me about $145 at that time. I haven't checked prices lately, but would assume they've come down a bit since then. Is it worth it....I would say 98%
