Not sure how much of that lousy resale value is the brand and how much is the fact it's 2WD. Resale value on 2WD tractors is the pits.

Brokenarrow - I refer to him as my former dealer but he is also a personal friend. We know alot of the same people, Have some simular hobbies etc. He gave me his 2 cents as a friend. He said "if your not going to stick with Deere, I would personal recommend Kubota."

I repair power tools part time for one of the local Machine shops. As previously mentioned, stick with the name brands Milwaukee,DeWalt,Makita in that order (IMHO).
most others are throw-away tools, Ryobi being the worst and I cannot comment on the Rigid as I have never worked on one.

I am looking at 94 L2650 w/FEL, R4s(loaded), 345 hrs, good paint. The fellow is asking $9,500. Is that a fair price?Machinelink says it is. Are there any known problems with this model?<br>

I went to Liberty Tractor Monday. Today is Thursday, August 12, 2004. I am only 20 years old. Before I went there, I felt like I would be kind of "discriminated" because of my age. WAS I WRONG!!! I was very pleased with the salesman. His name was Bob. He answered ALL of my questions. There was an older feller who walked up while we were talking. He didn't see to him until we were through.
All in all, I impressed.

I had a Toyota Landcruiser diesel pick-up for years. 3.6L engine if I recall. The payload was 1 metric ton or one tonne - 2204 lb. Great truck, tough as nails pity about the right hand drive though (no good for the US).

There should be a bleed screw on top of the filter housing, loosen it.<br>
Turn the ignition switch to ON to activiate the fuel pump.<br>
Tighten the screw when the fuel coming out of the bleed screw no longer has air in it.<br>
Turn ignition OFF.<br>
If it still will not start, loosen the injector line fitting at the injectors and turn ignition ON again. <br>
Crank engine until fuel flows from all lines. Turn ignition OFF and tighten fittings.<br>

By the way, if you have the 4-way valve on your loader, you could run the splitter off the loader valve without adding anything. You just need to unplug one of the loader circiuts and run off it. A lot of people opt for that instead of adding rear remotes.

Replacing the fluid stored in the cylinder when retracted will replace a little more than half what the cylinder will use stroked out.

I am new to the 855 world. I have an owners manual on order (for about 3 weeks now) at my local dealer and it still hasn't come in. I wanted to know if someone could tell me how to remove the grill from the front of the tractor. I want to check the air filter and I can't figure out how to get to it. If it's like the rest of the tractor, it probably needs to be serviced. I am thinking the previous owner didn't do anything with it since he said he had it for only 6 months and never changed the oil. <br>

Hi, dlgcustom. It sounds like you have already determined that price is your biggest factor, so perhaps I am wasting your time on a sermon that you have already heard. I can say--from personal experience--that paying several hundred more for a tractor from a dealer that will stand behind the machine may be worth it in the long run. If you trust the high-volumne, low-price dealer to stand behind the machine, and if that same dealer is convenient, then by all means this does not apply. In my case, I had a tractor with a chronic problem that was eventually "traded" for a new machine. I know that the low-priced, more distant dealer I had considered would not have gone the full mile with me to resolve the problem, and my higher-priced local dealer dealer was truly my partner in providing me satisfaction. Just thought I would throw a personal experience in here. BTW, I love my 4110 and could have gone with the 4115 if it were not for the longer wheel base/turning radius of the 4115. I spend a lot of my hours mowing and have plenty of trees to mow around. For open-field mowing, brush hogging and loader work, go for the 4115. Pete

Icynene (sp?) spray in foam is great, no doubt about it, but it may not stop the rodents. I've seen 'em tunnel through DAP spray foam insulation that I've used. Not sure if Icynene is the same type of stuff as DAP though.

Well it's not the battery. And I cleaned all the electrical connections that I could get to (at least without pulling the whole thing apart). I've got the dealer coming out this afternoon. My guess is that it's one of the safety switches. We'll see......

I just saw an advertisement for the 4wd JD790 with JD419 FEL and LX5 rotary cutter for $15.2K, so it stands to reason you should be able to deal a 790/419 down under $14K
