I've bought a SE Pennsylvania horsefarm and a B6100 4WD with 350 hours is included. It's dusty but been stored inside for 10+ years. Its got a woods RM48 probably with identical hours. I'm hoping the new ZD28 with 72" is the right machine to go for, so the B6100 is saleable or tradeable. Does anyone have an idea of what I could expect for dealer offers or on the open market?

Frank: The rear tires are R1 but these do not seem to be a problem as they do not seem to cut the sod like the front ones do. The mower wheels seem to follow in the front tire groove also compounding the problem. Wider, R3 tires on the front, I suppose will also handle the extra weight on the front better, if I should add more. I will stick to the R1s on the rear as I plan to add other attachments in the future as my budget permits. In any case, thanks for the advice.

Their base price is $1000.00 higher than I paid for my new B-2910 and with mine I got a 72" MMM....their price is for just tractor........Buy from your local dealer....He is the one who is going to service your tractor thru the years.....I bet if you go to 2 or 3 dealers in you area ( even if you have to go 50 miles out to get 3 dealers ) you will find a better deal than they have.....

Probably an unlikely screnario but be sure to establish that the water pump is functioning properly. The coolant has to circulate to do the cooling properly.

I believe you can go with either a 3rd SCV or the Rear Auxiliary Hydraulic Line Kit or most probably both are what I would consider. P/N BM18005 $244.80 USD The 3rd SCV will cost much more. The kit comes in a hyd. line kit and a separate SCV valve and lever. Anyhow, hope this gives you some kind of visualization of the options.

If you haven't done so already; I strongly suggest a thorough test demo of each machine head to head. They are not comparable machines but you may find that the Kubota meets your needs and save a few bucks. On the other hand, you may find that the Deere 4115 ergonmomics are much more to your liking especially with respect to pedal postion and operator space in the seat area. Both are very nice machines but you should operate and test each out very thoroughly BEFORE you buy. Go with the machine that suits your liking the best.

Demand a new machine! Leting the machine go out the door to you with no oil in the trans. is totally unacceptable and shows a poor emphasis on detail by the dealer unless there is evidence of leakage or damage that caused a leak. When you get the new machine; check EVERY last nut and bolt as well as fluid level. Totally go over the machine. Be pleasant but FIRM in you resolve for the new machine.

I second Marks advice. Go with the dip stick reading and in the mean time run this question by your dealer just to be sure you have the bases covered.

What is needed to convert a Hinomoto e16 from a 2pt hitch to a 3pt hitch? Do I just need to add the top link?<br>
Are parts available from AgriSupply or Northern Tool? Part #'s?<br>

Pumps generally have maximum and continuous pressure ratings. A dealer or manufacturer should be able to say what they are. A republished article from the 70's I have says that most gear on gear pumps have max pressure ratings around 4,000 psi and continuous ratings around 3,000 psi. Ratings for gear in gear types are a little lower. Unless pumps have improved since then, 2,800 lbs. relief settings may start pushing some continuous ratings. Over-heated oil would likely do the damage.

One thing that happens at high pressures is that pump flow decreases even for piston type pumps and implements move slower (CUT's generally have gear pumps). That keeps the system under high pressure for longer intervals and adds to heat problems. However, oil temperature is easy enough to monitor and should be when doing heavy hydraulic work.

Jparker, long as the push botton type yolk is a standard size, which is 99% likely, most any farm supply outlet or machine shop will have them on hand. I too still prefer the old push botton type. Some of my ring types you need to turn the ring, some you slide the ring toward yourself while pushing the yolk onto the tractor shaft. Long as the splines are lined up and a squirt of oil on the shaft the old push botton type is a one hand operation. Have a great weekend. Frank.

The B7800 safetys require both PTO's off and no hydro pedal unless you are in the seat or it shuts down after a second or two. Mine doesn't require parking brake or being in neutral to dismount.<br>

There is a second seat switch that allows rear pto operation if the seat is flipped forward for log splitters... I don't know about the parking brake interlock in this mode or not but I would think its a good idea to secure the machine somehow while using the pto from a dismounted position. <br>

Personally, I've almost stopped using the parking brake due to problems with CRS. Instead I use the bucket as a parking brake. Kind of hard to drive off with it down and not notice ;) <br>

Update...

The jaw was only able to put a few 1/8" deep x 1" long dents in the 2x4. I dropped off the 2x4, the keys and a note to the dealer. I haven't heard the result yet, but the dealer offered to come check pressures and haul it back to the shop if needed. I had to ask them to hold off till after the weekend so I could hog the pasture first.

TomG - Thanks for the line on the book, I'll check a local dealer and Amazon.

I've heard and do the same as Beagle. After shutting down, I lower all hydraulics and then cycle the loader valve through all positions to be sure all pressure is off. The dealer and people here say a little leakage is normal. My 3pth was leaking down 3" in 15 minutes before the repair. I should know after tomorrow if that has been corrected.

Like I told the dealer, the bucket thing was a suprise. I can live with it if needed to get back the bite strength, but they want to check some pressure readings first. Apparently there is a relief valve in the bucket circuit that may need adjustment.

Thanks for the post. Funny the color comment had been sent to me from a friend that thinks green is not the choice too. We have a fun battle going on. Buckets at head to head at sundown. I learned the hard way of having a too small of a truck when pulling a large boat with a Ford Ranger and the gears fell out on the street. So now I have a v8 Dodge, I know wrong color.
(brand) But we work with what we have.
I think I am going to check out the elec. breaks and a strong gate to drive on. Why cut coners.

Just ordered the Workshop manual for the Bx23 from Tractorsmart.com for $48. They didn't have it on their website util I emailed them and they said they could get it from Kubota. Don't know what the msrp is but at least I don't have to pay sales tax on it.

Thanks for the response Murf! I took the carb to a dealer service manager today and he said it was a heater but could not say why it's there. I'm going to put it back together and run it awhile to see if it is tied to a temperature switch and goes off after the motor is at operating temperature. The reason for my interest is after the motor gets hot it begins to run bad. The thermostat has been changed and the system filled to the manuals direction. IF the heater in the carb doesn't go off then maybe it's vapor locking. Anyway I should know tomorrow. Again thanks for your response.....bigfred
