HEY OLIVER, Since you live in TAXICHUETTS I guess you are going to vote for JOHN SCAREY......MAYBE I am wrong, but why would anyone with a MIND want to see the movie you mention.....If a person wants to be informed they should watch C-span, c-span2, and c-span3...like I do about 20 hrs/week....then the would be truely informed.....<br>

So far, the best deal in Arizona I can get is 10% off MSRP on the 4310, what about ordering from another state and saving on the 8.1% sales tax?? ouch.... thanks for the info, Tom.

We were clearing an old farm to make it into a golf course, there was about 5 acres that had been an apple orchard. The trees were all old, knarly stuff and almost everyone of them had a hollow spot containing a nest.

We ended up dragging the big tub grinder close and then using the big excavator with the grapple on it to just tear them from the ground and mulch them, trees, bees and all.

Take that you nasty little buggers.

I called a tow truck :) The guy had a big truck with two strong winches. He held it upright while I drove it down the hill, then hooked to the rear of the tractor and helped pull it backwards up the hill while I drove in reverse.

For the JD790, I've measure the PSI at the loader connection, before and after adding one pack of shims. It added 400 PSI (from 2000 to 2400 at idle, from 2100 to 2500 at full throttle). I did not want to do this blindly. Based on the JD online parts, the pump used on the 790 is the same as the one used on the 4110. The default psi on the 4110 is ~2400. Therefore in theory this modification should not damage the pump. The hoses are rated at 3000 psi. I do not know about the SVC rating, the front axle support capability and the loader structural strenths but so far I had no issues and so does other people on this site which had the mod done longer than me. This is a modest increase of 20% i.e. if I was lifting max 800 lbs, I would now be lifting ~160 lbs more (i.e. 960 lbs).
This allows the loader to break more easily into a pile of stuff.
The long term effects are not known. Perhaps there will be metal fatigue somewhere along the line ? Perhaps nothing will ever happen ?

However, this does not mean that you can do this for all tractors. I've read somewhere that someone has added ~300psi more (I believe those were the numbers) from 2500 psi to 2800psi (a 12% increase only on another model of tractor) and the pump got damaged within a very short period of time.

I would think that that 10 hour interval for grease is just a suggestion. If you're going to use the loader hard all day for eight or ten hours it would make some sense to grease things again when you stop for lunch. There's alot of force on the bushings and really nothing to keep the grease from squeezing out.

I don't know the tractor so I'm just poking around at general ideas. Since you've done this many times I assume you've got the procedures down so there shouldn't be any surprises.

Something that might do it is if the oil were foaming. I don't know if it flows or bubbles out of the vent or if there's any way to tell if there's a lot of air in the oil. Suction line troubles such as clogged screens, clogged or wrong filter or wrong oil might do it. It might be a far-fetched idea but perhaps something to check. I don't know how much filling it with the hydraulics extended might change the level when they're retracted.

Thanks Andy. I have decided to go with the Terramite over the 3130. My old 7100 has a 3pth and I have a rear blade and post hole for it. The Terramite is a dedicated TLB. Like most dedicated machines its capabilities are far greater than attachments on the 3130. Also the dealer keeps telling me that if I keep it well, the Terramite could be sold for at least what I paid for it in two years. Looking on eBay, I believe him.
