Belimki and Dave, Thanks for the compliment on the weight bracket. There are 14 of those little Deere front end weights for the 4000 series. I think they weigh about 45 lbs. plus the weight of the bracket. Weights and the bracket combined are roughly 670 lbs. I just got the box and pan brake set up and really haven't had time to try it out yet. My next project is belly mount hydraulic system running off the mid PTO to operate orbit motors on grain bins. I plan to make a fluid resorvor kind of shaped to fit under the tractor out of sheet steel, so that should give me a test to see if I have any idea how to operate the brake. Frank.

I agree with you, but with it only being 20' long why not go to atleast 2x8? The added cost is nothing compared to the storm of the century that will come after you build?
The more room for insulation down the road the better.
I would figure it out (cost wise) and procede from there. Personelly, if adding $200 to the cost will be a problem, I would wait. The roof is one of the first things you see when looking at your place. my .02

Im lovin it! Going to get some serious seat time this week! I am laid off for the next 2 weks starting In Aug. I have a few fields to get in the fall crop and have 2 new impliments I have never used that will get a work out this week. Did someone say chistmas? I sure feel like a KID again

I am using internet explorer and dont know about the catched? I will ask my guiness son, (I hate doing that too!!!!) My 2 daughters keep changing the darn screen savers and such along with changing the time to 1 minuit and it kicks in. I will change that to about 20 and see if it has anything to do with it. As forest Gumps mom always said, Stupid is ,stupid does? Or something like that but I do feel stupid!!!
Just was wondering why it is also so slow for my computer? Must be some setting I have but I have no prob with any other site? Maybe it because of the HUGE WEALTH OF KNOWLEGE HERE!!!!!!!!! IT TAKES UP ALOT OF SPACE?

Two words -- personal responsibility. You obviously did not do your homework and rather than admit a mistake and take corrective action (like selling the thing and buying the Deere you cherish), you need to blame Kubota and badmouth the machine (and those like myself who bought one) to make yourself feel better. Rather than whine about what could have been, why not grow up, take charge of your life, and sell the tractor that is making you so unhappy?

And for what its worth, it's insulting to read your constant griping about the inferior products Kubota makes. I did a great deal of research, test drove many different makes and models, talked to friends and neighbors who own tractors, and spent lots of time weighing the pros and cons of each. After all that, I bought a 7510 because it was the best machine at the best price for what I need to do. I have no regrets.

What is a clodbuster? A auction I am going to on friday states they have a cultipacker but when I talked to the owner he say's the auction comp. made a mistake, he said it actually is more like a clod buster? Said its 8' long and around 500 pounds give or take. I only found one pick of one on the net. Was wondering if there are different versions or interpretaions of a clodbuster over the years?<br>

Happened to be surfing and found this little item from Carver Equipment Co. that pretty much states, Kubota frowns very seriously on selling tractors over the net. The HP is closer than it sounds. The 4115 is rated with 20 PTO HP and the 7800/2910 has 22 PTO HP.

I would have been happy with either color. I bought the first TLB package I could find in this class and ended up with green.

John, I would CAUTION you to reconsider your decision to purchase a Ford truck with a 6.0 Liter Powerstroke diesel engine. Ford is having a horrible time with this engine. So much so, it is to the point that they are buying trucks back from irrate customers in large numbers.

Dodge was going through a similar issue with freeze plugs falling out but they seem to have a handle on the effected engines.

I did an LARGE amount of research over a period of years before I purchased my 2002 Dodge 2500 Cummins HO. These are very reliable trucks IF you get the manual 6 speed transmission. After my last experience with my Chevrolet Suburban, I will NEVER own another GM vehicle or at least truck. I test drove the Duramax but was very disappointed with the vehicle as the check engine light came on as I backed out of the dealer parking lot and the transmission was leaking profusely after the test drive. Ford and Chevy both have a real nice interior with their full crew cab but the truck power trains are very poor in my opinion. If I could have purchased a Ford F-350 Crew Cab Long bed with a Cummins engine and NV5600 6 speed gearbox; I would have been all over it. I loved the crew cab but I went with the mechanically superior truck and got the Dodge. If you tow, DO NOT get the automatic. NONE of the auto manufacturers make or sell an automatic transmission that is suitable and reliable behind a diesel pulling any significant amount of weight. The Allison transmission in the GM trucks has its problems as well.

It isn't a good idea to store you machine with load on the hydraulics. This will lead to pre-mature wear on the cylinder seals, and also leaving the cylinders extended means the shaft is exposed to the atmosphere. It is best to have the shaft stored in the cylinder body so it is in the fluid. Some leak down is normal. The mower is lifted by the three point, so it is the three point circuit that is leaking down. I have never left mine up with any implements attached, so I couldn't compare to mine. I do know that it doesn't take long to leak down even during operation. Dropping 4 or 5 inches over night is probably nothing to be concerned with.

Another suggestion or question is whether or not the lift arm anti-sway bar turn buckles are tighten too tight, not allowing the arms to spread far enough.

I think it would be a big but doable job, but I've never done it. The JD technical service manual for my 4310 is pretty good and gives step by step instructions for most service areas so the 950 manual is probably about the same. I'd recommend the parts manual too - it's good to see breakdowns of how things go together and what all the part numbers are.

I blame R4s for rolling my tractor. In our clay soil they slip and slide wet OR dry. One day they plugged with clay, became slicks, and after a long sordid ordeal I ended up rolling my tractor. See my pics and the archived threads "I hate my R4s" and "I hate my R4s part II". Since the R4s were replaced with R1 ag tires traction is 1000 percent better. R4s are a compromise, and like most compromises they don't excel at anything. But they won't tear up your turf as much.

I am probably into a "belt and suspenders" issue.

I use Power Service because it says it will control bacterial growth... although I hear that is a bigger problem in wetter climes.

I use 85 Plus primarily for its lubricating qualities for the injector pump and upper cylinders.

Which Red Line product are you looking at?

The only reason I can think of to buy a 790 over a 4115 would be if your budget is so tight that a few dollars a month would be a big deal.

The 4115 is more tractor for the money, and is much less tiring to operate, especially if you are in the seat several hours at a time.

Maneuvering the back hoe to just the right spot is so much easier with an HST. I haven't hit the house or scraped the bark off a tree since I traded-in the 4100 Gear.
